I would make a lanyard hole (or not) and call it done. It is amazing.
Thatās a seriously good idea! Really like it. I would mill the epoxy, making the slot a bit wider and try agin. Will be worth the effort in the end.
Thanks for the tips CRX. I was thinking of wrapping the blutac in cling-wrap. Grease sounds like the way to go.
Thanks guys. Iām busy tomorrow so I might just enjoy the light as is for a few days until I get time to change it.
Nice build :sunglasses: :+1:
Fantastic build and a nice write-up describing the steps taken. Love the (w)hole idea!
That looks so sick pp. Nice work.
I re-did the epoxy. I still ended up with some bubbles but nothing too bad. I polished it a little this time but Iām not sure if I like it this way yet. If not it wonāt be much to scuff it with fine sandpaper.
What it used to look like-
What it looks like now-
OMG titanium AND blinky colours!!! :+1:
Lol, the gifās I made are not very indicative. The colour change is more lava lamp style than blinky.
Nice flashlight you have there :+1:
Love the LED color and the shape of the host
Canāt see the new version
Very nice indeed, brilliant idea on the lit tail cap, came out awesome!
Once I receive it Iāll get right on the reviewā¦
Looks awesome mate.
Did you have to changer your tooling on the lathe seeing as Ti is harder then Aluminum?
I joined the flashlight group on Facebook and they sell custom lights like this 600+ USD its crazy.
Canāt see the new pic either, but Iām glad you did improve it :+1:
Bugger it! I donāt know why the second pic doesnāt show??? It comes from the same album.

Yeh, I burned through a couple of drill bits. One bit in particular was head and shoulders above the rest (12.5mm) but I didnāt pay attention to what it was made of when I bought it so I guess Iāll search google for whatās good for drilling titanium. The cutting bits I use are the carbide indexed bits and they were fine.
Iāve thought about joining that group just to see what itās about but would rather not go through FB. Also Iām aware of what some torches go for on the other forum. I have some mokume waiting to be machined but anything I produce is not intended for sale on the outset.
Cheers
If you can set up a coolant it makes all the difference in the world. I donāt have coolant set up and I, uh, well, kind of started a fire. Havenāt made anything in Ti since my EDC quad. Been awfully hot to do anything at all out there lately and itāll probably be like that for the next 3 months or so. I wonāt be able to stay away that long, but I really donāt have plans to do anything at the moment.
If it makes you feel any better, the great Photon Fanatic broke a bit drilling the chain hole in the tail of my Texas Poker. Happens to the best of usā¦
Ok I get it ā¦ā¦ A titanium Lava lamp . far out !
I see the pictures!
I like the now more polished look.

Lol, yeh, that does make me feel better. I know I have seen it before but it was interesting looking back on the Texas Poker. I guess Iām viewing from a different perspective now.
Before the epoxy change over I took a little video of the colour changing.
Itās nothing like the disco light you made a couple years ago djozz :+1:
Ya all just playin with me mind.
