It’s because none of the major battery manufacturers make the 18350 size. The reason we get such high capacities and energy density from 18650 and 21700, but not from 26650, 26350, 18350, 18500, 16340, 14500, etc… is because Sony, LG, Panasonic/Sanyo and Samsung use their very refined, proprietary battery chemistries on just those 2 sizes.

All of the other “non mainstream” sizes are made by smaller battery companies who’s chemical mixes are not quite as good.

I don’t think Lumintop will want to, but does anyone happen to know if they would be willing to sell standalone drivers? I’d buy a few buck drivers….
