Sorry, can you tell me more about the Fura Gear mini knife? I’ve just seen it on your photo. I’m don’t know much about knives, but that caught my attention!
Thank you in advance :+1:
I guess a bandsaw would be the best to do that. Since my choice of power tools are quite limited I’ll try to cut the notches with a dremel and a handsaw after some practice.
Why don’t you try to add a scandi edge to your Griffin?
It’s a fine mini folder with nicely finished chamfered/rounded lines all over it. It’s a non-locking design (like a friction folder) but it’s also equipped with a kind of “detent lock” which helps to keep the blade in opened or closed position. The handle, the backspacer and the pocket clip are made of titanium and the blade runs on bearings. In closed position it’s disguised as a bottle opener.
I think the blade is too thin for that and honestly, I don’t like Scandi grinds
They are ugly to me, the only one I’d buy is a Mora knife if I’d ever do bushcrafting/camping
Thank you for your quick and detailed answer! Yesterday I’ve was searching for this knife and found several alike, but under different names (In AliExpress Stores). Guess I’ll try one, seems good enough to try it
Thanks again!
Thank you mate, gonna look into your review
This knife’s look is growing on me! I only have a small knife and 2 a bit bigger (this & this) and wanted to try another small one, with “reverse” pocket clip ! So this FURA or the AliExpress versions seem to be a nice option :sunglasses:
It hasn’t opened in my pocket yet. Since it has a tip up carry pocket clip and a sheepfoot blade without a tip which will sit in your pocket against the rim of the pocket it’s not likely it’ll cause any problem.
Carrying my Randy Larsen Custom Damascus today with the burl mesquite scales. Use this pretty much strictly for food purposes… had it over 3 years already, time flies!
