Best 2AA light out there

Get a couple of AAA to AA converter cases for the bugout bag as well, they weigh nothing but double your chances of getting compatible backup batteries from any source.

Didnā€™t you forget about people with headcrabs

My initial reaction was Fenix TK20, but that shows my age. So the nearest alternative would be olight s2a baton

I am Legend is a re-make of the Omega Man - a far better film IMO but I am showing my age.

The Nitecore MT22A comes to mind, I personally donā€™t have one (yet) but it is a double AA. I like the side by side configuration.

The only multi-AA lights I have are the SF11 and TK4A. Great for eating multiple cells at a time, but they have the same issue as any multi-cell lights: leakage. One cell will always burn down fasterā€™n the other, and youā€™ll still be getting usable light while that weak-link is oozing its corrosive guts all over your lightā€™s innards.

Me personally, Iā€™d stick with single-AA lights, ā€™cause you might scrounge up 1 cell, but thereā€™s no guarantee thereā€™ll be 2.

That said, the Zanflare F2 seems to fit the bill, ā€™though I donā€™t have one to comment on it.

Otherwise, a 2ƗAA Maglite with LED drop-in (or match-mod) should be moreā€™n sufficient.

For a 2xAA flashlight, maybe Blitzwolf BW-ET1 !
And a solar battery charger  Unless the sun also disappears :zipper_mouth_face:

In that case, consider a light that runs on C cells as well. Being the least popular battery size, itā€™s likely to sell out last in an apocalypse.

And you can use adapters to convert from C to AA and to AAA.

Granted, I donā€™t know of any nice C lights out there. Maybe some Maglite?

Whats your price range? That will help us a little.
$10

$40

$60

Zanflare F2 because IMHO itā€™s the only easily buildable 2AA host / light you can get right now (the SA22 is another good multi-AA host but getting harder to find).

I also really like the Olight S1 baton with an extender on it so the more UTD S2A (mentioned above) would be my choice if I just wanted a turn-key light ready to use without buildingā€¦

Do people actually believe in that zombie BS or are they just joking?

Truth!

I think its just used to describe a really bad situation without being political due to the international nature of this community.(TEOTWAWKI)??
I would use natural disasters with extended power outrages, but thatā€™s long.

In my location it would be hurricanes and tornadoes that I would be concerned about, not zombies.

I buy a lot of cheap AA lights and batteries to trade it the USA goes tits up.

Price isnā€™t an issue. Thanks for all the suggestions! Will have to do my research

If price isnā€™t an issue then I would go with the Nitecore. If it is a ā€œsurvivalā€ light then the less switches the better; less to fail. Brands like Fenix and Nitecore have some QA around their products so you can be assured that you are getting a quality light. I have 15 year old Fenix and Nitecore lights that still work well. The cheaper ā€œbrandā€ lights are great if you get a good one but you might not due to lack of QA.

Batteries are as much of a concern as the lights themselves if you plan on storing them in the lights.

Please keep asking!

Omega Man is a remake of The Last Man on Earth (Vincent Price) which was an adaptation of Richard Mathesonā€™s novelā€¦I Am Legend.

Wisconsin has several zombie outbreaks every year.

Best use of flashlights is to put them all in a pillowcase and swing wildly at their heads.

Are we talking women without make-up aimlessly walking the grocery store aisles at 2am. in a bathrobe, fuzzy slippers and curlers?

I like the Jaxman M2
and of course the old fenix e21 still rocks (but we all got them cheap too

Pennzy, how does one activate turbo and strobe modes in this pen light? I assume that there is no mode memory. Right? I am a big fan of Sofirn, and the $9.79 price of this piece shipped induces me to give it a try. Thanks!

I donā€™t own one but check out this video

Looks to me that turbo is in the general rotation.

Ahh, youā€™ve been to a Badgers football game.
