I do understand your thoughts on that.
I never really looked into the name and what would be good for it. I did like the BLF-LT with the logo one & Lantern symbol and border similar to the GT, but because the GT was built by Lumintop Barry mentioned it was awkward for the factory to use that logo because of its similarity to the one on a light built by a different factory. Neal contacted me recently asking about if we had a factory & engineers working on the lantern, project, as he expressed interest in this new project and having Lumintop’s factory take on the project, but we had already handed the project production to Barry and the factory that build Sofirn’s lights. (with Thorfire)
As for other alternate names for the lantern, I thought of others like: BLF-Lantern with the lantern logo either before or after the name string, but i still agree with some that ” BLF Lantern is very generic, and needs some kind of model designation. I also liked the one another suggested: “BLF-SARlantern” , or “BLF-ULT” as another name, ( ULT meaning UltimateLantern.)
so in reality the top favorite names i like in row of fave to last (excluding BLF-LT) is:
Yes, good choice I could also troll my wife with that name… She calls for me (George), a lantern named George on an RC car appears in front of her, here, job done, now leave me alone
Seems like there are a lot of folks that like LT for a name but we have been told they want to avoid any conflict with the GT makers. Legally, I dont think there should be any problem …… I mean one is a Giga thrower and the other is a Lantern…… I mean look at all the different car names with Z or X.
If I remember correctly, LT looks too similar to the Lumintop-produced GT, and this lantern isn’t being produced by Lumintop either (which could also be abbreviated LT).
Some members (myself included) Find “Lantern” to be a boring name anyway. I’d personally take just about any other name over just “Lantern.” This is also why there are a lot of Lantern-plus names that have been brought up, like Ultimate Lantern, Sky Lantern, and the various number + Lantern names.
DBSAR has a neat logo for the “BLF SARLantern” name, by the way.
