Proposal for a BLF defense flashlight

According to… the internet?

Here’s a molecular break down:
Table Sugar = 50% glucose + 50% fructose.
HFCS = 45% glucose + 55% fructose.

Thus the name. So the real hate is attached to emotion, not science.

Close.

Sucrose (saccharose) is glucose and fructose, about 50/50.

HFCS is also glucose and fructose, but the balance is variable (hence “high-fructose” vs “regular fructose” ). I forgot how the balance induces glycemic spikes, which are a Bad Thing.

Huh… learn something new every day.

Ah, you are right, thanks, that was a word-choice mistake. I left fructose out of my fructose discussion  haha. Fixed.

Yep, softdrinks are my focus, and F55 is the one I wanted to obtain. I wanted to see if I could taste a difference from standard sugar water. And if it tasted sweeter. There’s conflicting info about that online. I wanted to test it myself.

Not to derail the already-moribund discussion about bat-lights, but there are plenty of natural sweeteners that can be used. Eg, erythritol is natural, tastes like sugar, and doesn’t do nasty things to the body. Stevia is good if you like a licorice taste (in coffee it’s like anisette). I like honey in my coffee, when I can get it (got that from Jonathan Kent, ironically enough). Never tried agave syrup, but would if I had the chance.

But I absolutely stay away from NutraPoison and the like. Generally avoid sody-pop except for seltzer, and occasionally ginger-ale (and always cut it 1:1 with water anyway, else it’s just sickly-sweet treacle).

Anyway, back to beatin’ and killin’…

“Not to derail the already-moribund discussion about bat-lights….”

with all the prosthetics for animals, I’m sure bat-lights are way down the wishlist for sonic impaired bats
well-meaning efforts might be better applied toward miniaturized hearing aids

Sorry for the accidental segue to sweeteners. Carry on with the concealed weapons topic.

Crazy Cali. Try what you did here. I assure you WILL NOT get very far.

So it’s 2019, maybe some people changed their mind about this?
I’m still searching for a proper defense flashlight that doesn’t have Chinese LEDS…

Pretty much all LEDs come from China or Asia, at least the good ones?

If there is a proposal for a defense light, are there any specs or renderings? We could discuss that, maybe there are more interested parties now?

I am a batlight collector. So I am all for it.

What about Cree LEDs ? They are supposed to be made in the USA

Here’s an idea. I found this ’jewel’ in the Pink Flashlight Thread .
Gotta love the ‘pocket clip’….
.
Punisher Baton Flashlight Stun Gun – Pink

Wellp, it can be done…

Whoa. Wonder what kinda clown pants you’d have to wear to use that clip…

I don’t know…. but you can bet they wouldn’t be pretty or practical. … Just like that clip.

Thank goodness I am not there then. We are still pretty much free here …. as far as law abiding citizens go.
It is pretty much like Joshk says here also. Thank goodness….

I was thinking this was going to be a EDC tactical light. Not something you want to use to thump someone with. If you want to do that buy a MagLight for cheap money and use that, or get something like a pd35tac from Fenix and use another weapon whatever it maybe, as that weapon would probably be more suitable for defending yourself over something like a small clublike flashlight that you are using to see and or to blind the attacker. Which could also become disabled because it breaks upon hitting the attacker then you have lost one of your defensive advantages .

My 2cents.

Maglites are decent. BUT the tube walls are VERY THIN. Can dent and bend easily. I tried to destroy one but really dented it real bad. Electronics powering light got damaged bad too.

The design of Batlight has to be in separate ( 2 - 3 pieces ) so that structural power is much stronger. Very important is thickness of diameter of tube. So when striking lessens chance of breakage.

I personally would use stainless steel or high carbon steel. Use the latest LEDs, run on 3 - 4 26650 OR 3 - 4 18650s. With aggressive SS strike bezel removable of course. similar to Wowtacs BSS Vol 3.

Naw, you hold it by the head (to keep it from sliding out of your hand, too, when swinging), and whomp ’em on the head with the tailcap.

Stick in a sleeve to be able to load it up with 18650s, and pot the whole tube with epoxy in that deadspace.
