Rough idea, based on RobertB’s post, but with “Lantern” added, since most voters seem to want that. What do you think?
Shouldn’t we first fix the name, then locking how much space is for a logo and the decide the logo?

Yeah, the word “Lantern” might be too small there, but it can be fixed if it is decided to use this name/logo. I used a perspective tool to make that text, and it stretches the “BLF” and squishes the “Lantern”. The fix is to start with the “BLF” squished and the “Lantern” stretched out, so when the perspective tool is done, it still looks even. Once that is fixed, then making it 10mm high will not be a problem.
Maybe I’m too late to chime in but I much much prefer BLF Campfire (without the ‘Lantern’) to keep it simple, marketable and easy to understand. BLF Lantern doesn’t roll off the tongue naturally, the two L’s are a bit cumbersome.
If this ended up being the final name, I’d say put the logo in between SAR and Lantern. That way it would be more centered, and the rays could be equal length.

As suggested by some other members, keeping the name-string short & simple will keep costs down maybe, and going with BLF L1 keeps the name as a model designation & on que with past BLF project names, ( Q8, A6, GT, etc.) also L1 keeps the lantern open for future updated models, ( L2, L3, etc.)
so here is the name with the lantern image logo and beam graphic that many have expressed they like. Even though this name was not added to Angerdan’s poll, it seems to combine the popular voted longer name abbreviation (BLF Lantern) with a model number (1) while keeping the name string simple, short, and aligned to past BLF light projects.
I like it……. did you consider what it would look like if you centered the Lantern?
BLF*L1 ……. then the ‘rays’ would cover the whole campsite
I like the name “BLF L8” suggested on the other thread. Short and simple and hints to similarly with BLF Q8.

This looks great, my only preference would be to make it LT1, since if it is just L1, it is going to get confusing when we get to the L2 and L6, which everyone knows already as Convoy.

Great logo, two suggestions though: to my eye, the version with two lightbeams instead of three is less noisy/less crowded. Second, and this is really a matter of taste, I like it better with the lantern off to the side instead of centered.

I like that a lot. I like the three beams better than two. If I had to offer any suggestions, it would be to lower the middle beam so it was more even between the other two. That’s just not picking though.
