Wondering if this lantern is any good. Anyone have one?
There is a lot of missing information in the description of this light. It doesn’t specify what type of batteries to use (alkaline or NiMH). If you recharge ordinary alkaline batteries they can explode. Will it work on NiMH batteries where the voltage is 1.2 vs 1.5 for alkalines? What is the lumen output? It looks as though it uses discrete LED (s) and a globe to disperse the light. It appears to me that they tried to get all the bells and whistles into one light (USB rechargeable, solar rechargeable, folding) as a sales gimmick. I’m not totally down on Banggood. I used the site as the source for many of the LED fixtures and bulbs that I used to convert my home to LED. They have lots of good stuff but every so often come up with a real stinker.
I own a couple of the folding lanterns (mostly received as gifts) and really like the ones that use chip-on-board LEDs. I even thought of rewiring one with a dimmer inside so that I could reduce the output when I don’t need so bright a light. There are many sellers on eBay and I have seen them as low as $8 for one or

There are smaller versions of these and some that used individual LEDs but are labeled COB even though they do not use chip-on-board LED technology.
It was the various charging options that attracted me to it . I assume it takes NiMH.

Close, but the one in the first video has a battery pack and I think the one I reference takes NiMH in a holder.
The second video the orange light takes nimh batteries plus battery pack..
