*they are sure the quality of the soldering will be very good.
*they will add springs on both sides of the battery if they can make it short enough.
*about potting the driver: it is something new for Sofirn but they will do it, the engineers need to “discuss about which hardening compound to use, time of hardening, leaking etc.” But they “believe we can handle it”.

I don’t want to portray the potting decision as set in stone, but they have indicated it is now their baseline plan.

As somebody who works in a manufacturing environment, I want to say that their responsiveness to our input has been great. It’s not always as simple as it sounds to add a new process cost-effectively to a volume manufacturing operation.

I suggested a tail like the Lumintop Ant (tailstand+lanyard hole+trit hole) and Sofirn will do that tail if we want it.

I’ll make a note to poll this as well once we see the prototypes and I set up a colour poll.

I suggested a tail like the Lumintop Ant (tailstand+lanyard hole+trit hole) and Sofirn will do that tail if we want it.

I’ll make a note to poll this as well once we see the prototypes and I set up a colour poll.

That looks like a functional design both for allowing split ring attachment and for tail standing:

Another tail design that was recommended by famed E01 afficiondao gurdygurds is the used by Klarus on the Mi02. Second from the left here:
