Wrist watches. Post pics, if you EDC one!

Yeah, I am not looking for automatics. I already have a few of them. I don’t wear a watch very often, so every time I do decide to wear one, I end up having to set the time on it.

That’s why I’m looking for a quartz watch this time that I can just grab from the shelf and know it won’t require time setting. That’s why I was asking about Sturhling quartz watches. Just not sure it’s worth the $90 they are asking for it…

I’d love to help you Pete, but I’m not familiar with that brand. Looks nice though.

re stuhrling - i would pass and get something like a casio marlin or a seiko 5 quartz ....any quartz watch will be very accurate but still the stuhrling is going to have so-so innards and the money mostly going to looks or advertising.. wle

great watch

Nice Watch. I think I might order one

Thanks. I need something with an SS band. I guess I could buy one separately and swap it out. I also forgot to mention I need something on the smaller side - 42mm max.

But you got me on the right track. I think this one might work:

The MDV106 fits MUCH smaller than its diameter suggests because the lug to lug length is so short. I have 6.5 inch wrists and it doesn’t look too large at all.

For most watches in this price range you will be much happier buying a stainless bracelet separately. The ones included aren’t a bad value, but you’ll probably want to swap it out eventually anyway unless it already actually has screws for size adjustment, forged clasps, etc.

That one you linked looks pretty good too but just consider the 50m water resist. Thats “splash some water on it while washing my hands” but not much more without risk. Just something to consider depending if this is more dressy/professional vs everyday beater.

Trusty Gen 2 Seiko Orange Monster …

Nice Monster! I have the black faced 2nd gen. I love it.

I wore my Rolex Submariner two-tone with the amazing deep blue dial and bezel for 20 years. After I retired a passed it on to my son and now wear the Luminox Men’s 3051 EVO Navy SEAL, it has got the best easy to read tritium dial, just an amazing watch for the money.

Alpinist was not the ticket so…

I bought a second one of the same kind
Older has a bit wear on the bracelet but otherwise works fine, not going to get rid of it either.

Pic in link, I recall it was a bit large:

Gullid Gullid - Album on Imgur

This isnt a watch i own atm, i ordered this watch yesterday.
So it will be my first bronze watch, and im very excited. I think this is probably the nicest looking bronzewatch ive seen yet, and its something different.
H2o make very nice watches also.

What do you think guys? Did a make a good choice for my first bronze? The meteorite the use on the dial, is from Sweden. And iam a Swede, so thats pretty awesome also.

It’s looking like a darn heavy ancient diving suit with a totally bruised dial and an ugly wristband made of an old horse rug.

I’m sure you’ll hate it but I’ll have a good place for it in little dark chamber for it!

Even though I think it would be heavy but yeah, it’s cool. Especially when you wear that diving suit while playing one of the Bioshock games
Is that meteorite a static surface or changing with the light like carbon fiber?

Not my style, but that doesn’t matter. You like it and that’s all that matters.

Haha  , not sure if you are ironic or not. But i guess you are.
I dont think its very heavy. 150g with the silicon strap if i remember correct.

Im not 100%, but from the videos ive seen it does change. It has like a texture to it.

150g is heavy like a stone around the neck for me. Even a 150g pocket knife is heavy for me.
But well, I have girl’s hands so that’s about that :stuck_out_tongue:

Is 150g heavy for a watch? i had no idea since im new to this “hobby”
My current one is 199g with Steel link. Changed it to a Nato now though.

Haha, that could be it. What does you watches usually weighs?

My Seiko Tuna weighs 202 grams.

Seiko Monster comes in at 169 grams

Love love love that tuna

Rachels casio

Thanks, Ven. It’s my favorite and most accurate watch. It’s now within 2 seconds a month. Love the face on that Casio my friend!

You know what’s funny? The Tuna is waterproof down to 990 feet. The deepest I ever go is maybe 10 feet. I think that’s pretty funny. Talk about overkill!

Pheew, I’m a knife guy, how can I know.
I only own 2 watches, a Skagen 809XLTBN amd a Traser P5900
No idea about the weight but I guess something around 70-80g

Btw, I doubt I’ll ever buy a Skagen again. Love the looks and the slimness but their prices for wristbands are just ridiculous
Saying that, I had to remake the bad of my Traser’s watch, too, had to replace the synthetic leather with real one but I liked the nylon layer (or whatever it is) on it
