Good thread. My latent torchaholic tendencies have recently resurfaced so good to have local sources.
In my possession:
1st ThorFire C8s from Amazon (very nice) like Kevin with 2 BLAZAR NCR 18650 B 3400mAh + Soshine AU SCS2 from supersport600.
2nd UltraFire LT-HJ Cree XML T6 from GearBest (average) which came with dodgy battery and charger
In transit:
3rd 4 x Astrolux A01 from Bang good to share with the family. (Need to get buy in from mrs to keep spending )
4th 2 at once, ThorFire TG06S and VG15S from Amazon - which required some more batteries from supersport600, 2x KEEPPOWER Protected Sanyo UR14500P 840mAh & 4 x IMALENT 3000mAh IMR Protected 18650
5th BLF Q8 from Amazon with 4PCS Samsung INR18650-30Q from Bang good. Hopefully the batteries will make it, hard shipping batteries international these days.
Three of those Imalent are going to be presents to a mate, mother in law and brother in law along with 3 x Convoy C8 Cree XML2 U2 - 1B and 3 x Nitecore UM10 Intellicharger from GearBest. Again to get buy in from nearest and dearest.
Thatâs over $500 in a very short period of time and still no individual torch over $100.
Saw the eneloop above and got some AAA to go in A01âs.
Not sure if a bargain as unfamiliar with amazon deals so not sure if prize will come down ThorFire PF04 Pen Light Prime Early Access Deal PF04 Early Access
Spewin âcause I ordered one last week, delivered yesterday. Nice little light. Was doin BBQ rump and pork fillet for dinner last night and the outside light was broken so reversed the pocket clip (swap ends with light and tail cap) and stuck it to my cap visor. Medium was good for cooking, Turbo light up a decent portion of the back yard.
Fortuitously, ordered TG06S at the same time. 14500 battery on order so only on AA and not working to full potential but stuck that on Jrâs cap and we had plenty of light for cooking
Yup and more to come. Just took delivery of 6kg chunk a rump from a mateâs brother who works in an abattoir, $8/kg.
ThorFire and Amazon are really playing with my mind. Now they are showing TG06S as lightening deal for tomorrow so within two days theyâve offered discounts on both torches I ordered last week and took delivery of yesterday!
Whereâs the cheapest place to get Eneloops now that EBay Plus has made all the shipping costs crazy high?
Bought 8 AAAâs the other day for $24 off eBay from an OzB deal, said $20 shipping, but there was a click and collect option that said -$20 so I bought themâŚseems you only get that $20 off if youâre an eBay Plus member. Seller was nice enough to refund me.
This is not an Aussie bargain, but just to let you know that this is a good deal equivalent to some of the lights you have mentioned.
Itâs an older Convoy C2+ and I think this offer is ending very soon.
I ordered 2 of these for under AU$14 each and they arrived today. Very nice bright little lights and great quality. I donât think youâll get much better for your money.
I had the same problem, ended up getting impatient and ordering from another vendor, 8xAAA eneloop $28 delivered. Ordered Saturday, sâposed to arrive tomorrow.
We were posting about batteries in the D4S thread. I havenât found 26650âs but purchased a couple of Panasonic Protected NCR 18650 B 3.7V 3400mAh Button Top from an ebay seller 9th August $23 for 2 shipped and theyâve tested ok.
The kids have been using them without issue so far in a couple of S2+ 7135x6 bedside lights.
This vendor has some LG HG2 as well for $9ea shipped, less for 2 or 4.
Vendor has various VTCx cells and a few others for sale as well. I donât need any high discharge atm with 8x30Q in transit from BG flash sale so was hoping a fellow aussie would pick up a couple of HG2âs for testing
That little Lii 202 charger is a good all round cheap unit.
I bought one for travelling in caravan and boat. $7.30 del from memory.
Does NI-MH AA. AAA.
/Li-Ion 10440. 14500.18650. 20700.26650. Up to 2A output.
Covers all the usual sizes.
Most of the GOOD batteryâs run Panasonic cells.
I usually stick with LG. Samsung. and Panasonic themselves.
I have some Panasonic and LG 18650âs in post at present.
$30 and $32 per pack of 4. Bought from Bangood.
They put a $2 handling fee on this order too??. Grrrr.
The Laptop power packs Iâve had so far.
Have all had either Samsung or LG cells in them. 2200, or 2500.
There are demoâs on You tube as to how to differentiate between genuine and iffy.
Well worth perusing.
And once youâve removed one AA/AAA cell and replaced with Ni-cad or Li-Ion.
Youâll NEVER go back to acid cells again.-
itâs like turning on a floodlight alongside a candle.
Output wise. I just stick to kids and amateurs with them.
Regarding those S2/S2+.
I have one of each. XP-L/Hi, models. and 3 x C8âs.
2 being the Sofurn C8A and C8T. Tâother one a
Ultrafire C8. XM-L2.
The C8âs outdo the S2 in all regards. including hand comfort. (I think)
Same pricing.
For kids inside home and yard work.
I preferred to give my grandkids each a Jetbeam Jet-1 MK Pro. Twistyâs.
They run AA Ni-Cad, and ICR 14500. 900mah.
3 steps from moon to 460. and Under $17AUD on coupons
I bought 6 plus 1 for my bedhead.
