Spewin ’cause I ordered one last week, delivered yesterday. Nice little light. Was doin BBQ rump and pork fillet for dinner last night and the outside light was broken so reversed the pocket clip (swap ends with light and tail cap) and stuck it to my cap visor. Medium was good for cooking, Turbo light up a decent portion of the back yard.
Fortuitously, ordered TG06S at the same time. 14500 battery on order so only on AA and not working to full potential but stuck that on Jr’s cap and we had plenty of light for cooking
Yup and more to come. Just took delivery of 6kg chunk a rump from a mate’s brother who works in an abattoir, $8/kg.
ThorFire and Amazon are really playing with my mind. Now they are showing TG06S as lightening deal for tomorrow so within two days they’ve offered discounts on both torches I ordered last week and took delivery of yesterday!
Where’s the cheapest place to get Eneloops now that EBay Plus has made all the shipping costs crazy high?
Bought 8 AAA’s the other day for $24 off eBay from an OzB deal, said $20 shipping, but there was a click and collect option that said -$20 so I bought them…seems you only get that $20 off if you’re an eBay Plus member. Seller was nice enough to refund me.
This is not an Aussie bargain, but just to let you know that this is a good deal equivalent to some of the lights you have mentioned.
It’s an older Convoy C2+ and I think this offer is ending very soon.
I ordered 2 of these for under AU$14 each and they arrived today. Very nice bright little lights and great quality. I don’t think you’ll get much better for your money.
I had the same problem, ended up getting impatient and ordering from another vendor, 8xAAA eneloop $28 delivered. Ordered Saturday, s’posed to arrive tomorrow.
We were posting about batteries in the D4S thread. I haven’t found 26650’s but purchased a couple of Panasonic Protected NCR 18650 B 3.7V 3400mAh Button Top from an ebay seller 9th August $23 for 2 shipped and they’ve tested ok.
The kids have been using them without issue so far in a couple of S2+ 7135x6 bedside lights.
This vendor has some LG HG2 as well for $9ea shipped, less for 2 or 4.
Vendor has various VTCx cells and a few others for sale as well. I don’t need any high discharge atm with 8x30Q in transit from BG flash sale so was hoping a fellow aussie would pick up a couple of HG2’s for testing
That little Lii 202 charger is a good all round cheap unit.
I bought one for travelling in caravan and boat. $7.30 del from memory.
Does NI-MH AA. AAA.
/Li-Ion 10440. 14500.18650. 20700.26650. Up to 2A output.
Covers all the usual sizes.
Most of the GOOD battery’s run Panasonic cells.
I usually stick with LG. Samsung. and Panasonic themselves.
I have some Panasonic and LG 18650’s in post at present.
$30 and $32 per pack of 4. Bought from Bangood.
They put a $2 handling fee on this order too??. Grrrr.
The Laptop power packs I’ve had so far.
Have all had either Samsung or LG cells in them. 2200, or 2500.
There are demo’s on You tube as to how to differentiate between genuine and iffy.
Well worth perusing.
And once you’ve removed one AA/AAA cell and replaced with Ni-cad or Li-Ion.
You’ll NEVER go back to acid cells again.-
it’s like turning on a floodlight alongside a candle.
Output wise. I just stick to kids and amateurs with them.
Regarding those S2/S2+.
I have one of each. XP-L/Hi, models. and 3 x C8’s.
2 being the Sofurn C8A and C8T. T’other one a
Ultrafire C8. XM-L2.
The C8’s outdo the S2 in all regards. including hand comfort. (I think)
Same pricing.
For kids inside home and yard work.
I preferred to give my grandkids each a Jetbeam Jet-1 MK Pro. Twisty’s.
They run AA Ni-Cad, and ICR 14500. 900mah.
3 steps from moon to 460. and Under $17AUD on coupons
I bought 6 plus 1 for my bedhead.
Hey lads i scored some Aldi battery packs for half price the 4AH kits cost me $20 each. I haven’t had a chance to get them fully apart but they are Samsung cells i was hoping for 25r but they are probably only 2ah cells still a decent price if you can find them. I tried to check what cells but its a pain to get the molding of.
