Everyone knows about all this “blue light is bad” stuff from decades ago.
If you read what your article says…
“alpha tocoferol, a Vitamin E derivative and a natural antioxidant in the eye and body, stops the cells from dying”
So unless you’re getting old, there is no problem with regular exposure to blue light from screens or other stuff.
Otherwise everyone would be blind from sunlight.
.
Obviously shining a high intensity blue or UV light directly into your eyes will cause damage, that’s just common sense, don’t do that.
Obviously the news article was trying to inform people that man made blue lights can speed up macular degeneration. Well the sun can do the same. Either way you’re hosed. You can lead a horse to water but you can not make him drink.
A long time ago people were afraid of understanding how the natural world worked. Fear, ignorance, superstition, sudo scientific beliefs, and religious zealots, were prevalent. These times were called the dark ages.
My monitor has some thing to suppress blue light and relieve eye strain i think most monitor do. I do have my monitor on gaming mode so its probably not active lol.
