ENEDED

All colours of the SC26 are production colours, unlike with the MT09R. At least this is what I’ve understood.

I received my second SC26 yesterday - Blue HI CW.

The first was Brown HD NW so i can compare both tints and emitter version. From a couple beams outside and side by side, i can tell there is quite a difference between HD and HI. The former has a wider hot spot, more flood but still some throw. The HI has a tighter hot spot and does throw further. I do like the HD beam because it is more balanced (some flood and some throw) and more useful to me.

Apart from that, i noticed the 18650 (long) tube must have a smaller OD at the tail because the tail cap is not flush as it is with the 18350 tube…

sounds great, i chose the HD for a more wider hot spot, seems more useful too me but we all have our own preferences which is good.

I like both HD and HI actually.

Is a sc26 can fit in 21700?

No only, 1x26350 / 2x26350 / 1x26650 works.

26650 can use 18650 and spacer
21700 has diameter lower than 26650
But the long is 70mm
Is so close to 65mm

Is it could be to fit it?

I just measured my two blue 26350 cells and they are 34.9mm long.

Multiply that by 2 and you get 69.8mm.

I would suspect that there’s enough room in the spring travel to make up .2mm so a 21700 should fit.

ok but why use a cell type that is not advertised that u can use? i dont get it if u really want a light for e special type of cell then why not buy something else then?

Greater flexibility and just curiosity in general I’d guess. Also if new 21700 cells are produced with greater capacity and have increased performance, it’s nice to know that there is one more light on the market that could use them.

yea i agree, but 26650 cells have also decent capacity compared to 18650, u will get some good runtimes on a 5000mah cell.

Being able to use 21700 is simpler for some people like me who doesn’t want to carry/buy multiple battery types. I’m getting used to 18650 because this size fits my headlamps, EDC, and power bank without having to check which battery to get from my backpack during travelling.
Once 20700/21700 becomes widely popular I’ll do the same to all my travel gears.

Since we’re discussing 26500 cells, I had a couple of extra unprotected 4000mah yellow, flat top unbranded 26500 cells that I purchased from mtnelectronics awhile back.

At the time Richard described them as “King Kong” brand cells though they are unbranded and are not labeled as such.

I’ve been using them in my SC26 and they seem to work fine. With all these higher capacity 26500 cells around now, do you folks think I can get the most out of the SC26 capabilities using these cells?

well u get more or less only more runtime using cells with higher capacity. Not like this light draws that much amps anyways.

I have been learning as much as I can about 26650s waiting for my SC 26 to come in. The Shockli 5500 will give the longest run times right in it’s discharge sweet spot at 6+ amps . Now trying to buy one stateside is the challenge. The only US supplier is Mtnelectronics and they are out of stock .With all the fake cell talk from China I am afraid to order from them. Might have a light without a battery soon.

Shopping via mobile phone is cheaper by few cents.

I’ve been using its 18350, and probably it’s the best 18350 available today. Looks like Vapcell uses new battery chemistry.

I purchased my cells from Shockli directly, by e-mail. The experience was very good.

There is some data that hints on availability of a better 18350:

But unless there’s more evidence I suspect that’s just a test fluke.

Thanks, I’ll check it

I just sent a message on their website. Sounds like they email back with the price?
