Dealextreme are they for real?

Yeah done that, not there either.

Marc.

Were you signed in your DX account when you placed the order? I once did not sign in and also did not receive an order confirmation via email and when I did sign in, no evidence of my order. My order eventually came in 3 weeks.

It was my first order, so I think I placed the order then had to open an account to carry on. The usual I guess, not sure really. I did put my email address in, so they at least could send me my order conformation. Normally it's automatic.

Marc.

I too am still waiting for a lens that 'was shipped' on Nov. 11.

Had no problems before, for almost two years. Three to five weeks, unless backordered, of course.

The last package I received from DX, I noticed that it went through China Post (Postal Express Processing Center, Shenzhen), rather than HK Post. It took longer, but eventually I got it.

Nov 11?! You do realise you're not getting that package! I hope you claimed your money back.

Marc.

Of course I'll get it ... eventually.

Besides, that was only Nov. 23rd, I made a mistake above (sorry about that DX). Laughing

Hope you do eventually get it, but almost 5 months?thats darn near a half of a year youve been waiting.. At this point you probably have no protection recourse, hopefully you do, or else The Snakes at DX won. If you used paypal, they dont have to send you anything, and they got your free money.

Again though, Hope you get the package.

That's the spirit! Let's just hope it arrives before you've become old-agedbriar!

After perhaps over 60 satisfactory purchases from DX, the loss of a single $4 parcel is not worth any amount of hassle.

A married man should be able to take a blow from time to time...

But:

1. I'm not married

2. I most certainly am not married to DX!

Speaking as someone who took a year to ditch an alcoholic GF

The real negative effect is that during this wait I've lost the interest in doing the modification I had in mind with the use of that lens (a TrustFire X9 aspheric).

This thread prompted me to compare my paypal and DX accounts and I find one order has completely disappeared. Lucky for me it was only for a $2.36 15mm driver I was going to use to revive the DinoDung. The order doesnt show up on my DX account page but I may have not signed in. It was ordered on Jan 21 so it may still be in the pipeline.

Me too.

I mean, I also just received that email link (the quote didn't include gen1.3 post's title).

Well reading your post in reply to my thread made me check my dino account and I have an order that was 'shipped' on the 8th feb. My finger is hovering over the large 'PAYPAL button' on my laptop. (it's a new feature you get on all laptops bought from China! saves time) I will give that a week longer and press it.

These companies must lose a lot of stuff. If a claim is made and weeks later it turns up, I'm not sure most people would re-pay for the item. especially if you have been ignored for 4 or 5 weeks.

Marc.

I order at DX a lot. Never needed a paypal dispute. A few items took >60 days, but everything arrived finally - except one item, which I canceled after >100 days and got my money back.

Patience it the key with DX, especially in February (Chinese New Year).

My first order (during the Chinese New Year) arrived in about 14 days, i was amazed. The second order (placed on 2-3-12) is still showing pending. I messaged live chat (yes they were actually online) and they assured me the order would ship in 2 to 3 days. That was two weeks ago. By the time i get my order they will be antiques.

Well, this is my take on this matter.

DX must have an arrangement that brings the postal costs down to near nothing, and they pass those savings onto the customer. Their selling gadgets for less than $1, shipped worldwide, proves that (whatever the item's intrinsic value).

So, when I buy from them, I benefit from their low postage fees, but I also have to accept the consequences (i.e. the variable delivery time and risk of loss). Up to now, it payed off for me.

I never choose the faster but more expensive delivery with sellers that offer that option, although within Slovenia we are spoiled by next day delivery even with ordinary postage and even with COD, which involves some paperwork. Yes, our postal service is among the best in Europe - if only our other institutions were half that efficient...

Dx is an order it and forget it company , it’s not like doing business with other retailers .

I don’t usually remember what I order or why when it finally arrives : ) it not like amazon or staples where you click order and walk to the mailbox and wait …

One day you will see that beat up package in 4 weeks – 8 weeks , or who knows. You Just have to know that going in to it otherwise you will drive yourself nuts and don’t even look at the updates they mean nothing. And if you don’t give them a month minimum forget it.

Having said that I have never had a problem getting all my stuff from them. Thankfully I have never had to go back and try to deal with their CS ( or lack thereof as I hear).

Rofl check out the what happened to you order video lol

I feel your frustration dx and that of you CSRs, sorry that is good stuff – hopefuly there new system will get up to a more reasonable shipping time – closer to MF or SFS.

Hope you get you order soon Marc - they are a pain waiting on them but dirt cheap – I only order what I don’t need right away from them , and as always small orders. They hold whole orders for missing/ not in stock items it seems.

I for one feel much better after hearing personally from Euphemia. I had a bout of that back in the 90's.

That poor Mars - 300 emails to clear. I though he was going to start crying at one point.

DX sounds like a company going through an SAP change over. Switching systems is an incredibly difficult transition, so hopefully they will emerge as a better company. Right now their reputation precedes them and it unfortunately is viewed as a joke by most people.
