On principle, I think it should have both holes, even if the majority who care won’t use the trit hole.
The reason I say that is because the people who want a trit and/or a magnet need the corresponding holes, or they can’t do it at all. On the other hand, the people who don’t want a trit or a magnet don’t lose any function if the holes are present; they can just ignore them or even fill them in.
Forget democracy, it’s time for an Imperial Decree
On a flat surface, it will peel off. But in a trit hole it seems to stay ok. It could easily be plucked out with a fingernail or toothpick. Haven’t had it in my pocket banging around with keys or anything.
I told Barry to go ahead with the design. I also asked if a split ring will be included and yes it will be included (costs almost nothing but it is very convenient that it is already there).
All that is left for us in the design stage is decide on ano colours and we may as well start a poll now. Perhaps it is nice to use the poll function from the BLF-editor because this poll will probably run a bit longer and everyone will easily follow the results. I have never tried that but will have a go in a few minutes.
Sofirn will be making 3 colours, and the options that Barry gave me (I hope that they will not change that after the poll) is black, “light gold”, red, silver and purple.
I hope everyone agrees that black is obligatory, so the poll will be about the other two colours. The poll can run I guess until Sofirn is ready to start production.
Yes, I found it, but it seems that there is only one poll option: choose one from a list. What we want here is choose two (and not more), or an option to sort the 4 colours in preference.
I could list all possible combinations of 2 colours, that would be 6 options, but that does not record any strong preference for one of the colours. Maybe surveymonkey is the way to go after all.
