Imalent unveils R70C – R90C – MS12

Wow great new lights! The 9x XHP35 R90C looks awesome. 20000 lumens is possible if the emitters are driven optimally. If they are driven optimally I would expect considerably more throw than the 704kcd they quote. If I’m not mistaken Imalent has in the past had not very accurate specs, so it will be interesting to see the actual performance. In any case the light is pushing the envelope for high output throwers which I like.

Wow… this takes a “budget light” to a whole new level.

I may just give in finally for a Imalent light. I too have heard about their reliability.

Count me in

Imalent MS12 with fan cooling and 53,000 lumens.

$609 though… ouch!

Some XHP35HI Flashlights from Imalent was verry wide under the claims. E.g. DN35 (1400 instead of 2200 Lumen) and DT35 (4300 instead of 8500 Lumen). I hope my measurements are nearly correct, perhaps throwers are a bit too low on my readings.
But the DX80 with XHP70.2 has around 29.600 Lumen instead of 32.000 Lumen. And that is very near to the specs.
So lets see how good the new lights will be.

I certainly here about more failed Olights and Imalent do sell a hell of a lot of lights now. Personally I’ve never had an Imalent fail but 2 of my Olights have. I’ve had a ton of lights fail tbh that have only been used for a few review vids

The DT70 had 13500ish instead of 16,000 but to be fair the LED’s were dedomed for extra throw and superb tint so it would have originally hit 16,000 …on a cold day
The DN70 was closer to 3000 than the claimed 3800 but tbf again it was one of the brightest 26650 lights on it’s release and wonderfully compact with USB and voltage read out.

Imalent really do tickle them.

WOW!!! Sign me up for the R90C and the MS12. I’ve been on the fence with the current monster thrower king X65 but this R90C is another level above. I wonder why the MS12 can only do 15,000 lumens stable with fans. Probably they only have one fan instead of 3 like Acebeam? I wish they use 8x21700 instead of 8x20700 but I guess 8x21700 would be too big to hold.

I just hope they offer NW option this time and not just CW again.

Yes, I got similar readings to the DT70.
But I think you are writing the Lumen numbers of the DN70 and not the DT35 with the 3000 instead of 3800. I got 2700 - 2980 Lumen with different DN70.

Yeah, good spot, I’m getting around 30k with the DX80 but even though the X80-GT is stepping down at ANSI I’m getting 31k+ at turn on!!! I just need someone else to gives a measurement on it.

So the x70 is on paper already beaten, i am very curious what the runtime on 50k lumens can be…

I love mc12!

How about MS12?

My typo it should be ms12!

The R90C is like my dream flashlight (if only they didn’t have those battery packs and let us use our own cells!)

The MS12 is also absolutely insane and I can’t wait to see the videos of how incredibly bright 53,000 lumens is from 900 meters away.

What kind of pocket clip does it have?

They probably don’t have a very optimized fan setup. Looking at the pictures I don’t see a clear inlet and outlet for the air. Most designs will draw cool air into the head from around your hand and then blow it out the sides. I don’t see that here. Hopefully it does not suck the hot air back in and circulate it. That could definitely limit the highest sustainable output. Maybe it moves air from the left side to the right side? We will need to see more pictures to find out.

I see it uses the older xhp70 instead of the 70.2. Interesting choice especially since their DX80 32k lumen light uses the 70.2.

Martin, does the R70C have a 70.2 or 70? I assume they are trying to get into the trend of high powered throwers like the GT70 and MF04S. Surely they would choose the 70.2 so that they can use a SMO reflector to get more distance.

Quad 20700? Probably not very comfortable unless you have big hands.

Yep, 4 x 20700 and 8 x 20700 in a sealed battery pack. Similar to their DX80, just bigger.
