Imalent unveils R70C – R90C – MS12

Yes, I got similar readings to the DT70.
But I think you are writing the Lumen numbers of the DN70 and not the DT35 with the 3000 instead of 3800. I got 2700 - 2980 Lumen with different DN70.

Yeah, good spot, I’m getting around 30k with the DX80 but even though the X80-GT is stepping down at ANSI I’m getting 31k+ at turn on!!! I just need someone else to gives a measurement on it.

So the x70 is on paper already beaten, i am very curious what the runtime on 50k lumens can be…

I love mc12!

How about MS12?

My typo it should be ms12!

The R90C is like my dream flashlight (if only they didn’t have those battery packs and let us use our own cells!)

The MS12 is also absolutely insane and I can’t wait to see the videos of how incredibly bright 53,000 lumens is from 900 meters away.

What kind of pocket clip does it have?

They probably don’t have a very optimized fan setup. Looking at the pictures I don’t see a clear inlet and outlet for the air. Most designs will draw cool air into the head from around your hand and then blow it out the sides. I don’t see that here. Hopefully it does not suck the hot air back in and circulate it. That could definitely limit the highest sustainable output. Maybe it moves air from the left side to the right side? We will need to see more pictures to find out.

I see it uses the older xhp70 instead of the 70.2. Interesting choice especially since their DX80 32k lumen light uses the 70.2.

Martin, does the R70C have a 70.2 or 70? I assume they are trying to get into the trend of high powered throwers like the GT70 and MF04S. Surely they would choose the 70.2 so that they can use a SMO reflector to get more distance.

Quad 20700? Probably not very comfortable unless you have big hands.

Yep, 4 x 20700 and 8 x 20700 in a sealed battery pack. Similar to their DX80, just bigger.

Looking at the R70C specs,I see this. Utilizes one American CREE XHP70 + 2nd generation+ LED, with a lifespan of up to 50000 hours and a maximum output of 6500 lumens.
So,it is 70.2 for sure.
It is possible that the same leds have been put in the MS12.

wow that MS12 is gonna retail for 600$ thats crazy and also doesnt make sense to use older xhp70 emitters for that price i think its fail imo… if they gonna charge olight/acebeam prices suddenly then their quality better be up there since the dx80 wasnt exactly flawless… will acebeam now bump the x70 to 50k lumens? lol

Lets say the 50k lumens cant be run at very high if they write stable 15k then it means it can run that nonstop probably… so if paying 600$ for a light that can only run short bursts highest its a waste of money then and lumens…

no

they use the old model in the MS12 because they see more failure of xhp70.2 in such a multiLED setup

single xhp70.2 is reliable they said

Everyone has different opinions on wasting money. Some people will like it and buy it, others won’t. This is the way it has always been.

RRP on the DX80 is around $400 but Gearbest nearly always do it for around $220, I expect the MS12 will be competively sold by Gearbest, Banggood and other stockists at a price per lumens point that puts all but Hank Wang to shame!

Imalent notoriously underestimate their lower mode level ratings so chances are that 15k could be 20k.

The X70 will be sold at 53,500 lumens

I heard Imalent were selling the DX80 at cost ($180) just to get rid of them. They needed the money to build new models which hopefully could be sold for a profit. So I would not expect half off on the MS12. We will have to wait and see.

I wonder if there’s a lot of banter between the Imalent and Acebeam teams or bad feeling?

It’s a fascinating battle.

It’s like Ferrari v Lamborghini, and Olight are the potential Bugatti brand waiting to shock us with a Veyron/Chiron.

Oh no, that is alot of wasted potential. So with XHP70.2, they can probably get 70k lumens? I hope Imalent don’t glue the bezels and make this thing modder friendly so we can get it modded with 70.2 emitters.
