They will send everyone another round of emails when the conversion kits and NW lights are ready for sale.
TA has mentioned that Lumintop does not want to sell the reflectors and lenses seperately. Something about them being easily damaged in shipping. I have not heard anything about the carriers. Maybe TA knows more about the carriers.
Thank you JasonWW,
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions, the thread was just to long to read every post.
As far as reflectors, besides having hundreds shipped to me and only one being damaged, and that was by customs, I don’t think that’s a great excuse.
But, for all the troubles they had early on they may be a bit spooked and surely wouldn’t want to replace one due to shipping.
There packaging though is second to none, so a small box with a similar foam similar to the big light shipment and most likely no damage.
So I’ll wait for my NW email, Thanks Again Jason…!!
Gary
Lumintop should DHL him a tailcap. This is despicable behavior from Lumintop for a $220 dollar flashlight he purchased in good faith.
After reading his post on Reddit, I was the one who suggested he stop by here and ask, knowing Lumintop watches these GT threads, and has 3 user accts here. Hopefully Neal can pull strings and get Lumintop to stop screwing around making hollow excuses, and get this BS handled.
You are talking about ordering the strap and lens cover correct? That doesn’t seem right, I am guessing it is the automated system adding shipping.
Apparently they can’t change that part of the checkout process without breaking the rest of the site and it is easier to refund the extra shipping after the fact. At least that is why there is the $2 charge on the CW GT70. I assume the same applies to these as well.
I agree, I am not sure how the reflectors would be damaged in shipping but they just don’t seem to want to offer them for sale for some reason. I have pushed them on it about as far as I can at this point sadly. A matter of pick your battles.
I agree and they have at this point. Although they should of done it some time ago.
Waiting 30-45 days is much more understandable then you might think though. I ave had countless packages I have sent internationally take that long and longer to arrive along with taking that long to receive.
30 days is the minimum I even consider worrying about a package being lost myself. I don’t even generally check the tracking number till then.
The boss at lumintop is not very understanding about these matters though.
Simply order them ASAP and they will ship with your order next week.
These can ONLY be shipped with your order (inside the light), they CAN NOT ship them separately due to customs cracking down on lithium battery shipments.
I would place your order for them by Monday to be on the safe side that they do indeed get added to your order.
I had them hold all shipments until them to allow people to add the batteries but after that there are no guarantees (although going off the past track record, the orders will be packed during the week and handed off to the package forwarder at the end of the week, so it should be ok to around mid week but best to order them early).
If it is too late to add them to your order then you will be refunded for the batteries.
For those that have been waiting for the batteries to be available to place your orders, you are now welcome to place those orders!
I, too, got hit with the $12 shipping with my order.
So, Lumintop just hit everyone with $12 shipping and then its up to each one of those who got hit to ask for a refund?
I sent message to Lumintop through their contact page asking for the refund of $12 shipping charge to my order.
I just got confirmation that they will be refunding the $12 to everyone. Although they are doing it by hand so if they miss you send Leo@lumintop.com an email and he will sort it out.
I would give them till the end of the week to get these refund processed before worrying about it personally.
How much was the new lights supposed to cost?
I’m seeing $325 and somewhere I read it was $200 something? Are they refunding the differences.?
I sent an email to Leo asking him about those of us who are waiting for the NW lights to be ready to ship and if buying the 30Q cells now and having them hold them until the NW’s are ready to ship is the right way to do this or is there going to be cells available just for the NW lights.?
Hard to beat $43 for 8 30Q’s.
Thanks
Gary
Oh ya, one more suggestion for the wish list of parts, how about switches, I’m forever getting lights that the switch eventually fails on me and finding the proper replacement can be impossible at times .
They are $225. Th emails for them include a coupon code that drops the price. I will send you a Pm in a little bit.
I would wait on ordering the 30Q’s, I see asking them to hold the order also asking for problems.
The switches come pre-soldered onto the drivers so they would not be able to offer them separately as they do not order them that way. The conversion kit does include a switch though.
Thanks TA, I went back and reread the email with the code so please disregard, and regarding the cells, yes your thought was my thought exactly so thought I’d just send a message to the fella who sent me the CW notice and asked him about what happens for the NW’s but your formal inquiry would be much better for all of us.
I can barely read an email that clearly says $220 with a discount code even, so whatever Leo tells me about cells for the NW’s will probably get translated here backwards.
Thanks for insight on those switches, I didn’t know that, so the conversion kit is very important, and the reflector.
Have a wonderful day
