Non Flashlight orders/received

I hope you like it, Glenn.

I typically stay away from “pods” style coffee unless there is nothing else available, mainly because I turned into a huge coffee snob over the years. However, if I had to have one, it would be Nespresso. It beats any kind of k-cup machine taste hands down, in my experience.

Hi Pete, for the past 3 years I’ve been brewing coffee in a 20 year old 4 cup Farberware Percolator. Makes great coffee but I’m sick of washing out the pot and cleaning the coffee grinds out of the basket.

The Dark Magic K-Cups are the strongest I’ve tried, and I tried many. I’d say it’s as good as any coffee I’ve used in my perc. The only thing Farberware has over the K-Cup brewers is the coffee is hotter. Since I drink my coffee black, it really isn’t an issue.

I hear ya.
My main issue with the “pod” systems is that they do not generate enough pressure to properly extract flavors and you also end up with coffee that is too acidic, alas, that’s personal preference, I guess.

My usual caffeine fix is via those ravioli-type “pods” at work.

Typically an espresso + espresso + espresso + espresso in a mug, with plastic-milk and sugar.

I tried my hand at milchkaffee by topping off the quad-espresso with milk, but it cools it down way too much unless I preheat the milk, which I just can’t get motivated to do, not unless/until I already have my coffee. Vicious circle…

I’d otherwise need a regular basket-type coffeemaker, like on weekends at home, so I can make it a mite powerful as I want, vs relying on someone else’s idea of how “strong” or “dark” (read: burnt ’til it tastes like an ashtray) their coffee might be.

My typical workflow is this:

  1. Grind 17 grams of freshly roasted Brazilian beans
  2. Pull a double espresso shot
  3. Add some hot milk and some hot water.

Coffee snobbery at its finest.

Nothing wrong with being a coffee snob. I just like a few cups of java a day. Freash of course. I’m not nearly as picky as you. I have total respect for your requirements. I’m like that with Stereo equipment. Been an audiophile since the late 1960’s

Picked up another portable gas stove. This one is slightly larger so it can accommodate bigger pots and has a wider flame spread. It’s going camping with me this weekend.

I don’t have a workshop in the house we are renting, so I keep things stored in tool boxes, tool bags, and tackle boxes I modify to suite the type of tool needs. Here is the soldering box I just started cramming everything in.

Damn that looks nice!

Cncman, that looks like a great setup. I know the struggle, I was a renter for years!

If you want some inspiration Google image search Adam savages tool carts / boxes, especially the stuff he built for his time at ILS. They’re VERY IMPRESSIVE!

I bought a CD…

I haven’t heard of that CD before. Is Lane Staley on it?

It’s released just last week, so unfortunately no Layne.

I thought it might have been unreleased material when Layne was still alive. He was Alice N Chains as far as I’m concerned.

I compare it to the Stones replacing Mick Jagger, or the Beatles replacing John and Paul. It just can’t work

Yep, hIKARInoob and atbglenn, I like “Rooster” and “Man in the box”. I know the feeling all to well, back in 1977 when “Ronnie Van Zant”, “Steve Gaines”, and “Cassie Gaines”, of the ” Lynyrd Skynyrd ” band were killed in a plane crash, it was very depressing, my most Loved Favorite Band was gone. I love music and in a variety of types, “Alice in Chains” was another favorite.

 To “Layne Staley” Died from a broken Heart, but never Forgotten.

USB C hub

A small refrigerator for my garage. It’s basically a backup just in case the main one craps out.

I will have this Honda Generator by September 14th.

Nice Generator Glenn!

I ordered some new 18650’s from a new store, 18650batterystore.com. I got Samsung 25S 18650’s that are a pretty good match to the Sony VTC5A/5D at only $5.99 apiece. I got 8 of em and they were here in 3 days. Pretty cool!

Also got my wife a new bath mat, she doesn’t know it yet, also out for delivery today…. wife is from coastal Mississippi and misses the beach so I got a printed beach mat that has waves rolling in on the sand.
