When setting the ceiling, 1 click sets it to 150. 2 clicks set it to 149. 3 clicks for 148. And so on.
I’m still not sure I understand the question, but this is how I recommend configuring that:
Look at a thermometer. Mine says 22 C, so we’ll use this value.
Go to thermal config mode.
Calibrate the sensor: At the first “buzz”, click 22 times to tell the light it is now 22 C.
Wait until the light shuts itself off. If you haven’t changed the value already, this should leave the temperature limit at the default value of 45 C. Otherwise, you could click 15 times at the second “buzz” to set the limit to 45 C. (limit = 30 C plus N clicks)
I received my D4S from Hank today. XPL hi equals on happy fat guy in a wheelchair. Civil twilight at 8:24 pm EST. Toykeeper and all involved THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! All caps very intentional
TK said they were usable for a night pee streak, albeit a bit variable in beam.
Guess it won’t bear up to evaluating your kidneys’ processing of local brews.
I find the low aux LED mode works well as a replacement for tritium vials. The high mode is more like a blue moon mode with longer runtime and a weird-looking beam.
Anyone notice d4s turbo mode response faster ? I did… double click to turbo and another double click to return to previous mode function is faster than d4. Lmk what you think…
Seems the same to me but my D4 is the Nichia so it could be emiter or some other variable that Toykeeper will have to let us know.
And Dam this thing is bright! playing with it here in the office and bounced it off the monitor, x-rayed the eyelids. We all do it. Quit laughing, because we know you are going to do it as well, or something else just as reflective. I am surprised that at this point Dale is not working in a room painted flat black, lined in black felt, Or he wears torch goggles.
Arrived in Aus today, flippin fast shipping all things considered.
brilliant light, like most, a little bigger and heavier than expected, but i like it better this way, build quality very nice.
is a hard reset the only way to turn of momentary?
Edit: “Momentary/tactical mode stays active until battery is disconnected, so it can be used for signalling. No pattern of clicks will exit the mode”.
my stupidity, sorry.
The tail magnet can old a 1 1/2kg weight swinging of it, should suffice.
Have you tried the 3A tint? If not you might want to give it a try. It’s not warm at all. It’s very neutral. the 3A almost guarantees the tint is at or below the BBL so you won’t see any hint of yellow/green.
Yeah I have two 3A D4’s, it seems a little cooler in my frosted D4 though. I just don’t like grey concrete roads and paths to look like they are sandstone.
I’ve got to say that I’m tempted in getting a D4S but I’m not certain which leds.
I have a Nichia-equipped D4 and yes, it gets hot, but I’d like to see a real side-by-side temperature and stepdown comparison to get an idea about which D4S I should choose.
Has it been done? Could someone with a couple different D4S lights compare them? Thanks.
