OK to use fast cell charger for star VC2 plus?

Recently aquired a Xtar VC2 plus and all of my cell chargers are of the fast-charge variety. All of them are LG or Samsung and are rated to deliver 9 and 5 volts and vary between 1.8 to 3 amps each. Will this pose a problem? Do the cell chargers detect and deliver the correct voltage? Thanks

I have no idea what you are asking. Can you try explaining again?

Hello. Yes, I will try. Essentially, the USB phone chargers in my possession output 2 different voltages in order to accommodate modern fast charge capable phones. They state in the specs both voltages. 5v and 9v. Each at the same current. I want to make sure that I don’t fry my new Xtar VC2 plus by over volting it if my usb phone charger sends it 9v instead of 5. I am wondering if the phone chargers (USB adapters) will step down to the correct voltage automatically. All of my phone chargers are of this variety. Thanks for your patience with my noob questions.

Yes they will work fine. Devices that fast charge have to communicate with the charger to negotiate the higher voltage and current, if the device can not do that they will work at a lower voltage and current. If anything the charger may limit current to around 500ma to 2 amp draw.

Are you asking if you can use one of your phone chargers (USB wall adapters) as a power supply for the VC2? If so, there shouldn’t be any problem on the voltage side - it will just run at 5V, but the USB wall adapter needs to be capable of delivering 2.1A at 5V for best performance.

Thanks very much. I suspected that there was to be some communication between the fast usb phone charger and the phone itself in order for it to activate the 9v output. My Samsung charger will do nicely then, and supply ample current…
