I’m a big fan of Manker TIR.
4 LEDs in a 22 mm diameter is a lot. But more importantly - it can actually reasonably collimate them, competing with 20% larger Carclo. If I’m not mistaken, Manker actually wins that competition.
I’m a big fan of XHP35 HI.
Lots of output in a tiny space. And good efficiency. And good tints. And good throw as well. I do have some gripes, I believe it could be significantly improved, but it is great as it is already.
I find the combination of both awesome.
Actually the first time I saw them together was in a mock-up of Vinh’s BLF GT. Which had more than 2 TIRs. I fell in love immediately….not in that GT, but in the TIR+LED set.
It would be hard to fit anything more powerful in that space, regardless of how extreme you are. Unless one was to make a mule.
So yes, it may not be a hard mod (depending on the driver). But I believe it will be a well-working one.
I like the look and shape. I’m not sure why you chose 50.2. I would go 70.2 and make it a real 3000 lumen.
The long press on/off is very irritating in this type of light. If the charging circuit is maybe 2A, then that would be a good thing. 3A is even better, but protected cells may have an issue with that.
This is too strange for me. What is the purpose for it? Is it supposed to be a very small, throwy light?
It looks cute, the UI is only “okay”. I don’t see any usb recharging on it and the clip can not rotate are negatives for me.
This is interesting. Maybe you can describe the function of the different pieces. Is one a glass breaker? The other pointy end for self defense? Maybe it’s a ball point pen?
I’m not sure what these are. Is it a glass breaker on one end and a ballpoint pen on the other?
That kinda sucks. It might be easier to just carry spare batteries. That way it works when you need it and you don’t have to scramble to reassemble it in the dark.
It looks like Fenix, Olight and Nitecore 16340 have a 0.3A charge rate. Klarus looks to have a 1A charger built in.
I think like this.
I don’t think it sucks. Normally you don’t recharge in the dark anyway, if capacity is too low for a single night, just carry spares or take another light.
I find such charger to be useful in multi-day trips where it weighs much less than several spares, especially if your phone uses the same connector and you have the cable anyway. Which is not my case.
I would want this for everyday carry. Batteries don’t run down in the day time, they run down at night when your using them. Lol
I guess my particular situation is unique to me. It’s just a shame I can’t find the right light for my needs out of all these similar styles and brands.
I may give up on finding a 90° head light and just use the new OTR M3 Pro.
I have ordered a 16340 light that I may EDC largely because of this style of rechargeability.
But with my EDC lights I just tend to check battery from time to time, so I can charge it before it’s empty.
Oh man, Manker makes such good flashlights but I can’t ignore their let’s call it “extremely loud” styling, it is sooo far from what I like! (think: compact, straight lines, elegant)
