Interested (AliExpress).
Thanks for organizing this.

Someone should really let JasonWW know about this, since he has been wanting a cool white version.

I guess I’m In for another…. I already purchased 8 blf q8’s haha

I’m in (AZUS).

Interest Amazon-US

Interested Amazon DE. Thank you!

Guys I have an even better idea for this:

How about we get a 4000-5000k LH351D R9050 BLF Q8 with updated firmware and better beryllium copper springs?

That would be absolutely amazing!

Interested (Amazon USA)
Very Interested if there is a XP-L HI V3-1A

Its funny how things happen sometimes. I was planning to build a Q8 with XPL HI leds.
I’m in for two from China.
Thanks djozz.

Interested in one - Amazon US

Yep If you're going to do a reboot leave it as a BLF light ... if you want to improve it than do the upgrade with better tint/higher cri, better switch color / flash the upgraded software clean up the flats etc ...

The light is already crazy bright and no one is chasing lumens or added throw with this light anyway .

Cool white is a step in the wrong direction in my humble opinion .

OTOH I'm still interested in one :P

What firmware version is running on it?

NarsilM v1.2

Andúril

Sofirn have been selling replacement battery tubes for the Q8 for at least a couple months now. Check here.

This is definitely the time to update the old BLF Q8 firmware (NarsilM v1.0). Plus it adds another selling point. :+1:

Think of all the people who didn’t buy the original Q8 due to them not offering it in cool white (the most popular color of all outside of BLF and CPF).

I hate to admit it, but most people prefer cool white on first sight since it looks brighter in the air due to a high level of refraction.

Unless you show them a 4000k 90CRI LED, they will mostly prefer cooler tinted LEDs.

Now, the best compromise would be 5700k R9080, but I have only seen the Luxeon MZ having this kind of pure white.

If Sofirn wants to change the firmware, it’s open-source and already available. I haven’t talked to Sofirn about it, but it’s definitely possible. NarsilM had some updates since then, and there are other compatible interfaces too.

Really? That’s an interesting theory. It doesn’t fit me or the people I know.

Interested, AZUS.
