this is more important that shelf surface under led board will be perfect flat
but of course scaline are not acceptable,
I don’t have the light currently
thanks for who can check that
^ shelf checked more than a year ago by heaps of modders, result: :+1: ( :weary: )
The two holes in the shelf are not threaded, in the first batch the ledboard was screwed down from above forcing (so sort of self-tapping) the screws in the holes, not elegant, wished it to be different but it worked. In the later batches with the screws coming from the underside the holes were large enough to pass the screws unhindered.
I just found out that the picture in Alen's post is not his light. I was under the impression it was a recently made unit. So I searched the image and found the same photo posted by djozz in the development phase of the Q8. Geez, louise. I wish folks would reference the source of photos when the photos are not their own. A little context goes a long way to understanding a situation.
Details of the new Sofirn Q8 version can be found here.
The big difference is that it’s using xpl-hi in Cool White. A more minor change is that they’ve eliminated the flat sections on the battery tube. It’s now perfectly round.
WW is the third most popular. So for right now they’re just trying to cover the first two. Maybe they will open up some more versions if this Sofirn version does well.
I reflowed new leds on MCPCB, connected to driver (no reflector), turned on Moon as usual and one led didn´t work, so reflowed again, assembled, but leds didnt turn on at all (no reflector). I tried to double click and got direct turbo, strobe etc, disconnected tube and from this moment everytime I connect the tube with the head I get direct turbo. The switch does not react to any click.
Could someone advice what went wrong? I cleaned everything, I checked all the wires, resolder the led wires on the driver and MCPCB, checked the wires of e-switch. When I soldered wires to the driver I accidentaly put an solder on other “connection places” for led + (there are four spots), but there is no solder bridge in to the wire, so I guess there should be a problem and I cleaned most of the solder with the wick.
