But then here comes JohannâŚ
Hmmm⌠hmmâŚ
I entered once in 2014, 1x AAA angle light, and i hardly finished, that is, the light worked for about an hour, and then a short circuit developed, and the tiny TIR dedomed a 219B for the second timeâŚ
I still have the parts somewhere⌠:person_facepalming:
The build thread has no more picturesâŚ
I was gonna join the scratch build contest again, but canât think of anything special and / or doableâŚ
So i might join, but only when i have a good idea.
Sub-ed.
Iâve had stuff rattling around my head since seeing this thread. Iâm starting to hone down my idea. Wonât be anything ground breaking but once I collect enough parts to make a start Iâll open a thread
We have 1st build thread live! Go and check it out here! Good job gchart!
Ps. I noticed Jack has got a keyboard. :person_facepalming: Bad things may happen. Hopefully Mr. Admin is awake and will ban him if/when neededâŚ
FMC is a lightbuilder and an entertainer
Letâs see what happens when he pushes the button :smiling_imp:
Iâm sure Jack will fill FMCâs head with ideas.
Going to have to miss this one again this year due to the financial mess left from my ex⌠These build contests are a lot of fun!
I still use my to past contest entries while camping and traveling.
1st Machine Made competitor joined! Please welcome Flashy Mike: 6th Annual Scratch Made Light Contest - Flashy Mike's machined project
At the very least I have to post in here, right? So, perhaps I will make an attempt to find my brain and see if thereâs still something rattling around in there by way of ideas for an entryâŚ
⌠Iâll be back.
You have shown us all here that you have more than rattles in your brain Dale. Your one of the wizâs with all things flashlights here? :+1:
Thank you Steve, but the past year has been difficult and the past month has been brutal. Rattles may soon well be all I have leftâŚ
That sounds bad. I hope everything works out okay for you.
Justin used to say⌠it is what it is, yâall know I ainât got sense enough to leave modding alone, regardless of how I feel.
Lanterns are popular this year, first three entriesâŚ.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I WONâT be building a lantern.
Iâm thinking of making a thrower, using the 200mm condenser lens from Edmund Optics, maybe with the focusing aspheric I removed from a Canon ultra wide angle lens. Just have to figure out if I can make the 4-jaw chuck work on the lathe and what materials I need to get as compared to what I have on hand. Havenât decided on emitter, thinking about the SBT-70 for itâs round die. That would, of course, reduce throw considerably but would give a fantastic pattern and possibly 2000 lumens from a 3V emitter. I canât see much over a mile anywayâŚ
Sounds amazing Dale. I hope I have internet access OS. :+1:
hope we see some realy nice builds again this year.
unsure at this stage if I will enter anything.
all the best to all
