The BLF GT70 "Giggle Monster" is here! 7,500lumens, 1,500m throw! Group buy Closed!

We have not seen a stock CW dedomed LED yet to know what the final tint would look like, so it is impossible to say if it would be better or worse then the one from KD.

That one from KD should work ok though.

As Jason said, any A or D tint LED should work for dedoming. At least as good as we can get.

The term “package” defines the design or footprint of an IC. (size, housing type, connections (pads, pins), etc…)

LED Packages

So what I mean is: Does a XHP70.2 always look exactly the same, with the same electrical requirements the same pad position, size, etc….? So I can buy any XHP70.2, and it will always fit……

I think this is the case, but I am not 100% sure….

Yes, they are all the same. You can configure to run them at 6V or 12V depending on how the PCB is configured, but the LEDs all have the same pad configuration and package size for the 70.2.

Yep, what he said. I do not know if there is a standard package name for the XHP70.2 footprint though. You could try looking for something like 7070 6v or 12v but I kinda doubt you will find anything.

Okay, I was over thinking it. It’s a simple thing. They usually go by the dimensions of the emitter base.

All 70 and 70.2 are 7mm by 7mm aka 7070.

All XML, XML2, SST-40, 50 and 50.2 are 5mm by 5mm aka 5050

All XHP35, XHP35.2, XPG, XPG2, XPG3, XPL are 3.45 by 3.45, but we call it 3.5 x 3.5 aka 3535.

Nichia 219 and 319 are actual 3535.

The new version Luxeon V are an odd duck at 4040.

So it’s just a matter of matching the package to the pads on the mcpcb.

With the 3535 they just have 2 electrical pads. They can run a 3v xpl, etc… or a 12v xhp35 because it’s 4 dies are wired in series. So you send 3v to an xpl and 12v to a xhp35.

Now the 5050 and 7070 are a bit tricky as you can run them at either 6v or 12v. This is determined by the mcpcb and it’s pad arraignment. You need the right mcpcb for your voltage needs on the 5050 and 7070.

Hopefully that’s enough info for you. We’ve talked extensively about mcpcb pads and the different types of voltage setups back in the GT thread and elsewhere. It helps to use pictures to explain that.

Kingjohn, if you want to keep a list of all the package and die sizes of the most common emitters, just take a screenshot of this LIST to keep with you. This is what I do so that I can quickly see all the details that I need.

I see they’ve added new emitters and it now has links. Cool.

HOT OFF THE HAZG PRESS

Next Update: September 11, 2018

The final set of emails for the neutral white GT70 and conversion kits will be going out next week. So if you want in, now is the time to sign up. The google form will be disabled when the emails go out.

At that point the only way to get in will be to PM me or Jason for the details manually.

I didn’t get the email for the CW conversion kit. I’m signed up as per the log above. Can someone please send me the code?

Thanks

Conversion Kit emails have not been sent yet.

Can someone please list out what the GT70 CW lights color tint off the chart that we just received?

Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you are asking hazG…. but the CW is 1A.

CW is 6500K P2 1A
NW is 5000k P2 3C

Here is the ‘Tint Chart’ to… while we’re at it.

Received the BLF GT CW this past week. Customs opened the box but everything was there and in great condition.

This is my first BLF GT - it’s much larger than I thought! Works great with some 30Q batteries. Everything is very well built and intuitive (great interface). Thank you for organizing this!

Thanks Teacher, spot on. That is exactly the information that I was seeking.

My pleasure my friend, glad that was it. :+1:

I have asked Richard for this led:

He told me, that the order code is this one:
XHP70B-00-0000-0D0BP20E2

But I don´t know, which one 2A, 2B, 2C or 2D?

I´ve asked him again.

MTN offers this LED also dedomed (and polished if needed) on Copper DTP 12V Board.
But MCPCB is only 20mm.

That’s the one I mentioned earlier. I received it just the other day. I plan to install it in the next couple of days. I don’t think there’s any way to know for sure what the color tint is but I’ll tell you if I see any green in it.

Do you plan to dedome this, or have you ordered a dedomed one?

Thanks a lot.

Opening flashlight, (reflector without fingerprints, dust…), removing, reflowing, mounting, centering an new LED, if first one is green, is about some hours work for me, I´m doing this not so often…
so it would be better for me to know, what result could be.

Whitwallshot in “green” is no problem for me, but I like warmer tint (more yellow or red) in nature…

This is going in an L6, dome is staying on.
