Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

well, it’s not 1000 lumens as stated…

Maybe because the shipping is 6 times the price of the product?

A red flag for me is that the seller is probably lying about the lumen output of this flashlight. According to Cree, the max lumen output of the XPE famliy is 307 lumens. If you check the XPE-R3 datasheet you will note that the max luminous flux given for this LED is no more that about about 120 lumens. Based on this misrepresentation, the product is probably crap.

Probably?

Water is wet, probably.

I am sure it’s a scam. And the funny thing is that I have seen a few similar price flashlight. All price less than $1.

My blog homepage

Looks similar to the many poor quality Hugsby style clones
( original Hugsby are great for beaters and gifting)

Sofirn SP31 v2 and SP32a v2 kits have coupons and/or discount codes for 25-30% off. The bare lights are discounted too, but not as much. Check the special offers section of the listings.

I’d say your own post violates that guidance.

Holster yours and I’ll holster mine.

Huh? Did I miss something?

I ordered a silver ’32v2 (from Sofirn/AX) and am still waiting for it.

Amazon only carries the black ones, eh?

Anyway, please continue the petty bickering. I find it most intriguing.

The SP32A V2? I was just looking at them. They got the black, gold, and silver.

Before, only black was available.

Anyhoo, I got a great deal anyway. 21bux for the light, so I ain’t complaining.

Been meaning to grab one. I like the old one a lot, just hated the ramping, used it once and changed it back to modes. I’m interested to try the ramping on the new one.

32v2s, TK18s, pretty much everything but my Q8s, if it’s got ramping, I use stepped mode instead. Quicker.

My Q8s, it’s either something lowlowlow just to see in the dark, or 2click to turbo anyway. If I need anything less than its turbo, I might as well be carrying a light that’s smaller’n/lighter’n a brick.

Fascinating, isn’t it?

We all seem to have our “lighting habits” pretty much all mapped out, while most of the planet just grabs a 2buk plastic-tube D-cell hotwire flashlight and that’s pretty much it.

I had to decide which light to give the wife the other night to walk the grand daughter home . None are single mode on/off easy-pezzy. I’ve got to work on that. I’m thinking the Q8 would cover all the bases as long as she doesn’t get caught in multipress jungle.

I got the wife and kids a few single mode sk68’s for just that type of thing. They aren’t impressive lights at all but they give the muggles a way to make it home in the dark.

S2+ with wider-angle TIR and nice 1-mode driver, say 1.5A or so.

Can’t beat that for close range lighting except for maybe an aspheric.

Thanks Lightbringer, Could you link me up with a 1 mode driver ? I’ve got a couple cheap S2+s I could use for that.

I got a bunch of those. Simple, stoopit, works. Nothing to go worng.

No µC to go mental on you, just parallelled 7135s and a reverse-protection diode. Great for pushing XP-E2s in old C8s (type I, with pill and 17mm hole), pretty much anything that takes 17mm drivers.

Get 20mm ones for SK98s if you go the aspheric route.

Oh, and order some springs if you don’t want to be stuck with button-tops. FT got ’em in a bunch of different lengths/sizes, just pick one that suits ya. No need to bypass anything or go with huge springs with only 1.4A.
