(prototype) the GT Mini

Yes, that looks familiar, sometimes the switching is picked up by the light, most times it is not.

Sometimes mine takes a few clicks to shut off too.

Yeah…… on a couple of occasions mine would not shut off. I unscrewed the tailcap to shut it off. After that it worked fine until the next time it would not shut off.
The green light on the switch quit working the 3rd day.

Okay mailed Neal with the video, its clearly defective u shouldnt have to press the button like a maniac for it to even come on or off let alone fiddle with ramping mode…

A while back M4D M4X told me around 400 of these have been sold, maybe more by now, and there have been very few issues. A couple people with bad leds and now a couple people with switch issues. Does it seem like this is just the normal small percentage of defects?

(I’m trying to not be a worry wart when I hear about these things)

I’ve had a similar problem in other lights and believe that the switch is not making contact internally. Sometimes a squirt on the switch itself with something like this and other times a switch replacement is needed.
Like Djozz I have bought these switches of Aliexpress.

2 side pin switches.

1.5mm and 2mm in height switches.

It does seem like a small percentage at this point. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Unless I missed someone, I count 4 people who have posted about switch problems so far. They are….

It would help a lot if we include 14 digits… 0815 = August 15th

Please explain Newlumen, I am missing your point & meaning. Sorry….

Ok. We are trying to figure out the manufacture date…

It looks like the GTmini uses a switch similar to these…with the 2 (dowel) pin locators…

I measured roughly 2.3mm between the pins on my mini….same type switch used in the 2 Yezl Y3’s I have.

My box does not have that sticker on it. All it has is a sticker that says CW.

Did you buy yours through the ‘Group Buy Pre_sale’ or somewhere else??

I purchased from banggood.

Same here…CW only…

OK, that explains that. A lot of us got ours through the M4DM4X / Neals Deals Group Pre-Buy Sale…… probably why mine at least has no sticker as you mentioned. It is a Banggood sticker most likely on yours.

You got much faster shipping than many of us here in the USA too.

Anyone else having any type GT Mini switch problems besides the people I mentioned above??

I really doubt it has anything to do with the manufacture date. Especially if they’re making 200 or 300 lights per week.

For instance, if it’s a defective switch, Lumintop may have bought a reel/package of 1000 switches at a time. Of that group, a few might be flaky. I don’t think there’s any way to pinpoint which lights I have a bad switch or not. I guess for right now Lumintop will just take care of it like a normal warranty issue.

(I still wish they would use seperate switches, though)

/\ … +1 … :+1:

Nice pics of the GT mini driver and emitter Kawi…

Neal responded on mail asking if sending a switch so i can replace it myself - I said sadly i have no knowledge in this i hope thats not the only solution and help for this, to me this should go under warranty a light thats barely a month old not much used and already problem isnt why i bought this light to have to replace a switch or whatever myself. And i like i said im not a modder and probably wont be as many in here are… If i would try do it myself i would probably destroy more then fix so like i said its better i not try that…

I mean my old convoy c8 works good almost 2 years old, if that would get a problem i wouldnt care so much…

I take care of my lights and i thought lumintop makes better then this . I prefer the rubber switch emisar has or olight compared to their choice.
