Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Order the 4 chip version. This will be 50% on high of the 8 chip version.

4 chips = about 400 lumens or so?

With a warmer tint emitter, probably so.
With a cooler tint emitter, maybe a bit more.

The Thorfire TG06S is scheduled to be in a Lightening Deal on Amazon.com starting at 7:35 PM EDT, 12 Sep 18. A summary of its features is listed below.

This is the flashlight that I carry every day in a belt pouch, and use as an inspection light. I like it because it has no mode memory and always comes up in High.

EDIT: There was a 20% off coupon for this flashlight when I first saw this listing - now it is gone. The current price is $16.80. The price has to go down to around $10 for this to be a good deal IMHO. Last June I purchased one for $9.79 during a Lightening Deal that gave 20% off plus a 20% coupon.

Please note that if this flashlight is left off ≥ 3, sec then it comes up in High. Otherwise, if left off for < 3 sec, it comes on in the next mode. Therefore, if you click this flashlight On and Off rapidly, it will appear that it has Next Mode memory.

EDIT2: Deal price is $12.79 (24% off). FWIW, the Elfeland Outdoor Lighting Store on AliExpress is offering the Thorfire TG06S for $10.28 for a few more hours. Delivery time to the US is 12 - 20 days via ePacket shipping.

It’s basically just cycling through the modes (H>M>L>Moon), isn’t it?

Yes, you can cycle through the modes with either a half- or full-click.

H, M, L and ML
.
Not my cup of tea. I will not buy anymore thorfire lights for this reason. I prefer ML, L, M and H.
I hate to be blinded upon first click of a EDC flashlight.

But the High-mode-first may work to your advantage outdoors, or when you want to see something in a light-absorbing-environment (like in a large room or around machinery) quickly. This is the only light in my current AA/14500 collection that always comes up in High. For this reason, it is one of my favorites.

EDIT: My Sofirn SF10 also comes up in High, but I don't use it much because of the noticeable PWM.

I feel the same way. But the ’05 is fine, goes L→H with memory, whereas the ’06 is H→L nomem.

Get the ’05.

(I should know, as I could open my own Thorfire Indirect shop. )

Or get the Sofirn SF14, Lumintop Tool AA, Enogear Stainless AA/14500, UltraTac A1, Jaxman E3, or Fenix E12. These are all solid flashlights that always start out in Low. But they are part of my collection so they have (1) no mode memory and (2) tail switches. There are numerous more AA/14500 flashlights that have memory and/or side switches - and start out in Low.

EDIT: Added links.

Thanks Sprinkles, just bought my first UltraTac flashlight!

Is that Lightbringer's nick name?

Nah, got plenty of AA lights already. I’m already AAed out.

The name’s not important, but you can call me Lu.

there’s actually a better deal now on Zanflare F1, 20% off coupon comes to $14.50. My previous attempt at ordering one failed when they sent me a notification that the package was damaged and could not be delivered, so they gave me a refund went to reorder it and saved another $1 with current coupon, a bucks a buck was annoying but turned out ok

Only experienced blindness with very high lumen lights against close objects. When using 14500 lights for inspections of dark areas, cycling through l-m to get to high is tedious . I have both UIs . They both have their uses but for daytime use instant high is ok.

As Blackbeard said, Amazon now has the Zanflare F1 for $18 with a clickable 20% off coupon. With free shipping on Amazon Prime, it ended up $15.56 after tax. Best deal I’ve seen on an F1 in awhile.
Deal seems to be only for CW tint.

weird, no tax in NJ unless its shipped and sold from amazon, I’m liking the light so far, gonna test it outside in a few hours, lots of accessories, good deal.

I’ve bought a bunch of these for friends who didn’t want to order from China. At that price from Amazon, it’s a steal. It’s a really nice light.

So is the tail switch just a on and off for lockout?
