Nice… you always prepared.
Nice! Sling it over your shoulder and use it to power a hot rod flashlight!
Just ordered one. Damn you BLF!!!
I’ve been looking at Generac whole house generators, but they cost around 6 or 7 thousand dollars installed. I have natural gas, so that would be the ultimate setup for me. Maybe in the next year or so. In the meantime, this will power my fridge, gas heat, and a few LED light bulbs in case of a long-term power outage.
OK, you play with your fancy fidget spinners and spin for 10 minutes, pfff, I’ll beat you with my 3 euros one right now!
Spinning… spinning… stopped. OK, 46 seconds, you feel my breath on your neck? Ha? :person_facepalming:
I bought the spinner to play with for 5 minutes, then I will pass it off to my neighbor’s 5 year old son. I’m sure he’ll get a kick out of it. If I really like it, then I’ll buy the better model for myself.

Ha! I also ordered a cheaper/smaller one for my 3 year old because I know the moment he sees mine he is going to want one.
My wife loves the Sennheiser’s I bought her for her Birthday a couple of years ago…
I’ve gotten to really like Senns. They do have the “veil”, which at first I thought I couldn’t get used to, but for long-term listening, it’s quite effective.
“Bright” earmuffs sound great at first, crisp’n’clear, but can grate after a while. Slightly subdued treble like Senns are (in)famous for, I can listen to all day.

Yah, we know how that’ll go…
He’ll get the big one, and you’ll get stuck with the smaller cheaper one.
Well, on the fidget spinner front, my friend bought this Atesson for me so it was free to me, then I spent $27 on Tungsten weights and bought a top of the line premium grade ceramic hybrid bearing for a ludicrous $43! The tungsten weights are supposed to net 3x longer run times, the bearing, well, don’t know. Better be good for the price, right?
I was just gonna tell my buddy about these fantastic run times I’m getting and not say anything about the expense I’ve gone to in order to get there, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I told him about the upgrade parts that should start arriving tomorrow. lol
Dale, you’re such a kid. Nothing wrong with that. Same here. At 66, I still laugh when someone farts.
then I spent $27 on Tungsten weights
Heh… I saw those tungsten weights, but I thought that was a bit much. Keep us posted though - I can always change my mind.
I just ordered some more headphones.
This time I got BossHiFi B8’s for $60.44, shipped from China.
Those look really nice. I may order them. I already have several mid range headphones and a couple of headphones amps connected to different sources. I’ve been into audio since the 1960’s. This is what I have at the present time:
Headphones
Denon D2000

Sony MDR-V6
Sennheiser PX100
Headphone Amps
Woo Audio WA6

The best pics can be found on BossHiFi's Amazon listing:

I'm not sure if they will look that amazing in person.

You have quite the collection.
I only have two JVC HA-S680's, which are nice for the price.
I read that BossHiFi B8's are even nicer.
Nice mat !! We still live there and go to Pensacola several times a yr for what you have on that mat…. :+1:
Nice Generator Glenn!
I ordered some new 18650’s from a new store, 18650batterystore.com. I got Samsung 25S 18650’s that are a pretty good match to the Sony VTC5A/5D at only $5.99 apiece. I got 8 of em and they were here in 3 days. Pretty cool!
Have a new Spinner out for delivery, a buddy sent it to me… his just like this one is getting almost 10 minutes spin times. Also got my wife a new bath mat, she doesn’t know it yet, also out for delivery today…. wife is from coastal Mississippi and misses the beach so I got a printed beach mat that has waves rolling in on the sand.
DB Custom, Glenn, how are your spinners?
My Atesson spinner in stock form was getting up towards an 8 minute spin on a flat surface. I bought a very high end custom ordered Hybrid Ceramic bearing and Tungsten weights for it and have achieved a vertical spin of 15:10.44. Yes, that’s 15 minutes, 10.44 seconds!
Edit: I would be remiss to leave out some specifics, my friend sent me the Atesson spinner that he bought on Amazon for some $15. I then spent $43 for the new bearing and $26 for the weights, in an effort to best his 10 minute spin time. So yeah, while I did best him by a significant margin…it cost me! (SWMBO does not know of this additional incurred cost…. shhhhhh! )
Nice. Mine doesn’t even reach 7 minutes. Maybe I need to clean/lube the bearing?
EDIT: Just rechecked - got close to 8 minutes this time.
Break-in time influences run time.
NO lube! Oil on the balls inside the bearing will create drag and slow it down. The Atesson uses SS balls in a chromium steel race (51200 I presume) and also has a steel cage that is double sided. It is possible to just wash it out with detergent and hot water and then blow out the remaining water after a good rinse, but it’s imperative it get’s dried good or there could be a possibility of some rust developing.
Dry works best for spinners. Especially ceramic ball spinners. I get that direct from an engineer at a high end bearing company in CA. (yes, I called them)
