The only difference should be the newer firmware. That should not effect the parasitic drain. It may have an added capacitor to make it more bump resistant.
Maybe someone can double check that the parasitic drain hasnāt increased. Only a couple people have them so far.
If anyone wants to check, here is how you do it.
You can temporarily deactivate the switch light by turning it on then ramp up or down and turn the light off very quickly.
YMMV, but Iāve seen meters show different values when the probes are inverted as they are in that picture. It canāt be an inverse drain, so of course the probes are on the wrong ends.
In terms of different functionality,or how functionality is implemented, firmware definitely can affect parasitic drain, I donāt know anything about the difference in this case, you are likely correct.
In this case we are talking about NarsilM v1.0 to v1.2. There are only small changes in the code. Whether it takes 6 years to drain or 11 or 2 makes no difference to most people. If your going to store the light for long periods itās always best to turn the battery tube to cut all power.
Maybe someone will report back the drain they measure.
Maybe because itās a direct drive light and the measured output actually varies a lot depending on batteries and a lot of other factors.
CW also tends to measure higher than NW. So maybe theyāre getting very similar measurements?
You lose trust way too easy. Only a handful of people have actually received it so far so we donāt really know if thereās a problem or not. It may be a simple fix. Itās way too early to tell.
Buying in bulk from a group buy to extort the market, pricelessā¦
Good way to end group buy pricing for the rest of us.
Not to mention using up all the available stock so we canāt get one. Limited number available, even more limited thanks to those who abuse the system. Not cool man!
Oh, I can read just fine, perhaps itās in how you wrote it?
Regardless, Sofirn never does the spring bypass well so if you were going to resale bulk you would either have to sell em as-is or bite the bullet and do some work for your profits. It is what it isā¦ we have come to accept compromise from Chinese vendors, will your customers learn to accept the same from you?
Still, extorting a group buy to get samples for business use is rather unscrupulousā¦
