Sofirn Q8 group buy (gb closed, but try PM to Sofirn for discount)

It should be the same as the original Q8.

135 micro amps switch led on
22 micro amps switch led off

Thanks.
I was thinking the driver might be different from BLF Q8.

The only difference should be the newer firmware. That should not effect the parasitic drain. It may have an added capacitor to make it more bump resistant.

Maybe someone can double check that the parasitic drain hasnā€™t increased. Only a couple people have them so far.

If anyone wants to check, here is how you do it.

You can temporarily deactivate the switch light by turning it on then ramp up or down and turn the light off very quickly.

YMMV, but Iā€™ve seen meters show different values when the probes are inverted as they are in that picture. It canā€™t be an inverse drain, so of course the probes are on the wrong ends.

1 x Solfirn Q8 via Ali

The Sofirn Q8 is in the Sofirn store on Amazon!
Where is my code?

Correction!!! that is the BLF Q8 :frowning:

Amazon US for me, please!

2 x Sofirn Q8 via AliExpress please

In terms of different functionality,or how functionality is implemented, firmware definitely can affect parasitic drain, I donā€™t know anything about the difference in this case, you are likely correct.

In this case we are talking about NarsilM v1.0 to v1.2. There are only small changes in the code. Whether it takes 6 years to drain or 11 or 2 makes no difference to most people. If your going to store the light for long periods itā€™s always best to turn the battery tube to cut all power.

Maybe someone will report back the drain they measure.

Asked by Aliexpres and on the way, I hope to have her soon at home, thanks for the help.

Maybe because itā€™s a direct drive light and the measured output actually varies a lot depending on batteries and a lot of other factors.

CW also tends to measure higher than NW. So maybe theyā€™re getting very similar measurements?

You lose trust way too easy. Only a handful of people have actually received it so far so we donā€™t really know if thereā€™s a problem or not. It may be a simple fix. Itā€™s way too early to tell.

I measured the sample Sofirn Q8, not exactly 5000 lumen but close enough IMO, see the OP for details, should be pretty accurate.

Buying in bulk from a group buy to extort the market, pricelessā€¦

Good way to end group buy pricing for the rest of us.

Not to mention using up all the available stock so we canā€™t get one. Limited number available, even more limited thanks to those who abuse the system. Not cool man!

Oh, I can read just fine, perhaps itā€™s in how you wrote it?
Regardless, Sofirn never does the spring bypass well so if you were going to resale bulk you would either have to sell em as-is or bite the bullet and do some work for your profits. It is what it isā€¦ we have come to accept compromise from Chinese vendors, will your customers learn to accept the same from you?

Still, extorting a group buy to get samples for business use is rather unscrupulousā€¦

Please add a 2nd via Amazon for me, thanks.
Iā€™m wondering, should I get on the AE list as well in case Amazon sells out before I buy there?

Amazon US pls

Just to note.

Buying in bulk, a true merchant can most always get a price much better than a Group Buy price.

Samples can usually be obtained free or at minimal cost also.

Just sayingā€¦. there is no reason for a true merchant to ā€œutilizeā€ a GB to obtain ā€˜productsā€™ to sell. There is no benefit to the merchant.

Thatā€™s definitely a different situation than most of us. Everybody takes a certain risk buying a ā€œbrand new to the marketā€ product.

You just leave a comment here in this thread.
