[♛ FreemeGB] Fireflies PL47 Gen II 4*XP-L/ Nichia/ SST20 Hi CRI 21700 Right Angle Flashlight - ENDED

With the emitters to the side of the cell, I wonder why they were placed along an edge instead of in the middle. The chunky look would be a lot easier to pull off in the middle, like the Nitecore HC50. Would probably be easier to wear that way too, and to keep it balanced in a headband holder.

I think alot of people will be using this in their hand instead of wearing it on their head so having it near the edge would be easier to hold. I use my headlamps primarily in the hand or standing, sticking it somewhere.

I do wish Fireflies provide a headband with a convenient plastic holder like the popular Armytek one instead of the typical rubber holders that are so difficult to put on or remove.

interested!

Are you really going to wear this dumbbell on your forehead?)
And don’t forget about torque because of protruding part.
It is nice handheld light, but as headlamp H03 is much more convenient.

Interested in NW or WW tint.

Interested.

Interested if it has a magnet in the tail.

so…its headlamp,not flashlight…angle type

INTERESTED! have kind of been waiting for the Acebeam H30 to come out but this one I might prefer.

Angle type is nothing, pattern of use is everything.

With the compact small size, I wonder how it handles heat, considering it has 4 LEDs and uses a 21700, it seems to be designed to put out a respectable amount of lumens (maybe comparable to headlamps that use a single XHP50.2 or XHP70.2?)

I think BLF- standard 10-15s for thermal step down at turbo)

Very interested.

More chance of getting this anytime soon than an FW3A I think.

x3 AMCs seems about right for a useful torch. With good firmware, maybe not Narsil, no disrespect, too much going on with that which I don’t use, I’d prefer Anduril.

The right-angle form factor looks good to me. Not as a head torch, just a very practical arrangement, and small.

Could do with a better clip that fits top shirt pocket or belt. Not that skimpy little thing that would barely clip into a jeans pocket, it needs a lot more gape and to extend to the top of the head.

Some way of attaching a lanyard/wrist strap would be good. Even just a little hole in the tailcap. Olight manage to do this.

The subsidiary LEDs look like fun, just because they can be done, though I’d rather it was just 2 banks of AMCs + FET for efficiency. Better use of the limited MCU pins I think.

A bit like the craze for gimmicky tail light LEDs that I have resisted.

Not so keen on the 21-70 cell. Better just 18650, smaller, slimmer. I think 21-70 will turn out to be a gimmick with little traction. Still, an 18650 should fit provided springs can cope and a sleeve is provided.

Probably. Too much heat in a small space, so it won’t be able to sustain high output for long unless it’s water-cooled.

If it’s easy to reflash the driver in an assembled host, like if it has Lexel’s flashing connector in a convenient place, I’ll probably use it for testing new thermal algorithms. It seems overpowered enough to count as “hard mode” for the thermal regulation game.
