Not sure about the details now, I remembered Banggood offered other products as replacement, but I rejected them. I waited because it was good deal, at the end had to give up and request refund.
I got 2 of the Cometa Bombeta’s one of which was affectionately called Melt Down, only because it did melt down, the other Bombeta was fine.
I ordered 2 of the 2016 Focusing Lights (AKA Cometa’s) wonder if they will come with the plastic milk jug insulators?
The new updated BG page I put up today still has a few of the nasty reviews from 2016, also I found a link to YouTube for those who were asking about how to fix the issues, I’ve heard there were quit a few vids, I haven’t watched this one below yet.
One funny thing I noticed on this link to YT, Cometa vid for fixes was that down at the bottom under the vid in the comments is a message by the man who took the worst beating on this cloning of the Jaxman Z1, the message is from the owner of Jaxman himself Paul as I’ve always called him.

I like how BangGood tries to bully us into buying the shipping insurance with a Pop Up after you cancel out the insurance that says something to the effect of “We will not compensate you if item is lost and you did not buy insurance”

Another 32bux outta my wallet… Yeah, got 2, as I don’t have any Cometas, believe it or not.
Wouldda been nice to get a free 26650, but who knows if they’d even ship it without trauma (35buk shipping, etc.).
It’s kinda like an illuminated switch, in that it lets you find it in the dark.
Surprisingly this new link with no cell has more reviews than old link with cell. That could mean it was cheaper without cell and sold more.
Anyway, i remember this lights were backordered in last promotion selling at 50% discounts or something. So i think this round of promotion is old new stock, hope that quality don’t fade too much from original cometa.

Look at the dates of the reviews, most are from 2016 and believe me BG has dumped a lot of the original reviews,
I’m really surprised they didn’t dump all of them,
People were screaming mad, that GB was part con job, a stealing of another Chinese vendors flagship product design the Jaxman Z1 or cloning of it,
BLF was asked to support this GB that CPFItalia started but couldn’t finish so that’s when BLF got somewhat involved, there were big problems for sure.
I believe this is the same light that was sold in the GB of 2016 because Manker would have had to make these and BG and Manker are split from what I’ve heard.
So provided it is the same light it is a good machined light, all I’m worried about is getting it and seeing a junk plastic lens but at $16 I guess I could drop a bit more for a quality lens and just make sure you know about the issues with it before you mess up, it could be somewhat dangerous,
It is complicated, could be design issue or battery with big positive contact not recommended as it will be shorted with ground. Also sharp solder blobs on mcpcb can short too if anodization nearby get scratched off.

Ya, hope that it is good quality old stock. We can easily fix the issue with klapton tape.
Actually the old link stock count went up to 20+ and 50+ for CW and NW for short while in last few days, but it get corrected, not sure how many people noticed this. Looks like BG found out it doesn’t include the 26650 battery.
Are you saying these issues are now fixed in the current Cometas being sold? How did you know that?

Ha Ha, I’ll bet you that BG knows exactly who is buying all these lights as well, a sudden surge in sales after years of trying to sell these, they finally got the magic number but free would have been better.
The fixes are not hard at all, I posted a link back a bit to YouTube and they will show you exactly what to look for,
Funny how BG is playing with the stock and really stupid frankly they are selling that light for that price and give you a free cell that costs almost as much as the light, weird…?
I am speculating, mainly because the company, as I wrote about two posts up is not doing business with BG any longer and they would have had to make new ones and these are a clones of the Jaxman’s Z1 and there was Holly Hell that broke loose in China when these came out, and this is the same old page from the GB and with some of the original reviews from 2016 all with the same warnings,

That will help somebody out for sure, makes a lot of sense to me anyhow… ha ha, too big battery head don’t do this or what happens…?? Idiots…
And on this page they are including the insulator ring, but that was to fix only one of a few potential issues.
