It’s not really a threshold sort of thing. Small differences have a small effect, big differences have a big effect. Just try to get things as close as you can, and the effects should be small.

I have a 2-slot charger instead of 4-slot, so I can’t charge all 4 cells exactly at the same time… but as long as I do each set of 2 one after the other, on the same charger, they end up almost identical. It’s probably safer than using two different chargers, since each charger has a different termination voltage.

Yes TK, when I plugged the clip on the chip the light came on. Pretty sure it was on while it was flashing Anduril.

That pretty much narrows down the issue to firmware, unless the button LED was moved to a different pin. But probably firmware. I don’t know why it would work on mine but not on yours, though.

I should probably open a bug for this, until an explanation is found. And, for that matter, I should probably actually be using the bug tracker instead of leaving it empty. Has anyone else tried Anduril on a new Sofirn Q8?

In that case, maybe it is just a loose wire. Could be loose on the switch PCB where it’s harder to see, perhaps? Not sure.

TK, did you remove Beacon? The only things I can see that don’t work like I’m used to seeing from Anduril is the lighted switch and there’s no beacon. I have Candlelight, Bicycle Strobe, Party Strobe, Tactical Strobe, Lightning. Everything else I use works fine. It comes on at the top of 7135 after a battery change, it blinks once when you get power connected, ramp works fine, double click to Turbo, the Candlelight and Party Strobe adjust up and down as usual, can’t find any other issue.

Wouldn’t it be better to use IS units?

Writing a delta of 11mV would have been much easier to understand, and there would have been no confusion that way.

1. IS unit = International System of Units. We don’t use pounds, Fahrenheits there

2. Delta means difference yes.

3. 11mV = 0,011V yes.
100mV= 0,100V

Beacon should still be there… but it’s in the battcheck blinky group, not the candle/strobe group.

Honestly, the groups aren’t really organized all that well. It was more of an organic growth process than a carefully-considered design.

I just charged four new 30Q button tops to 4.1V and they ended up from 4.080 to 4.091V. Is the spread in voltage safe enough to use in parallel in my Q8?

That is a difference of ‘11 thousandths’ of a Volt klrman… Nothing at all to worry about in any way for parallel or series connections.

Nope… .011 is eleven thousandths. Jason either made a typo or thought that too. So I sent email to amazon about my q8. I got replied within 5 hours. They said they have to get the light from another location… oct 4 was original delivery date.

They upgraded the shipping to 2 days… Friday is expected delivery…

Sound fair… amazon do good job…

Ok, until I get a lens in this will be a final… 9453 lumens.

That’s another 518 lumen gain. Simply by switching from Samsung 30Q cells to Samsung 25S cells.

Edit: Just for notation, this is a 3678 lumen increase over the stock light that just came in at lunch today. I think I can deal with that….

In the beginning, I said I wasn’t going to buy one because of the tint. I ordered one anyway, knowing I could flip it to a friend or co-worker if I hated it. Nope! I’m keeping it. I like how much different the hotspot is when I do a side-by-side with my BLF Q8. Great job Sofirn!
