Congratulations Dale, and thanks for so many posts that helped making BLF what it is now.
I’m not in because I want someone new to hotrod flashlights to win one of these “Frankendale” lights.
But I do go for the amazing pic.
These pictures are as embarrassing as they are amazing. It is simply all the loose discarded leds that I fished out in between all the other ‘junk’ in my small cardboard maybe-still-useful-someday-stuff collecting box, btw this is the new box that I started 2 years ago. All have been reflowed on a board before and later removed and almost all were used in a flashlight at some point and were dumped for a better led. Some were blown up during a led test, some were failed dedoming attempts, but most should just work. I must have payed dear money for most of these leds :person_facepalming:
Two pics, white light and 365nm UV light. No editing other than stretching the contrast a little to match better what I see in reality (but a pic will never have the brilliant dynamic range of reality).
There is many famous emitters missing, this was just what was in that box. The MT-G2 indeed, SST-90 (I never had one), a Rebel, an XR-E, MC-E, to name a few
Welcome to the forum BMG 50, thought you might like to see this… my first Old Lumens Challenge scratch build back in 2013…
Started with a live round, ended up with an 800 lumen twisty. And second place I think, can’t remember, was it third? Honorable mention? My cousin was VERY pleased when I gave it to him. lol
