Osram Oslon Boost HX

:sunglasses:
That is overdriven dedomed XP-G2 luminance within the specs. All depends on what happens over 6A, can much gain be had by overdriving the led?

I hope it hits the market, our market, sooner than the Black Flat S, which is announced at Mouser for half a year now with nothing happening.

Looks promising. I also like that it comes domeless. :+1:

Owwwww snap. I’m wondering which retailer will be the first to sell this mini beast. Kaidomain? Aliexpress?

Sooo, what about its colour rendering index? ( ͡°ᴥ ͡° ʋ)

Cheers ^:)

Here is some information I could find

Quote:

KW CULPM1.TG
Key characteristics:

Color: Cx=0,32, Cy=033, acc. to CIE 1931 (white)
lnom: 6 A
lmax: 6.6 A
Phiv @ Inom pmin: 1400 lm
Luminance: >200 cd/mm²
Rth JS real typ.: 1.8 K/W
Rth JS el typ.: 1.3 K/W
Vf typ.: 3.35 V
Dimensions: 4 x 4 x 0,73

Looking at these, 1,400 lm, if achieved at 6A 3.35V, comes to 70 lm/W.

The package is 4 x 4mm thermally-enhanced ceramic, with an electrically isolated bottom pad.

Well, led4power already has 4040 MCPCB’s that might fit better.

EDIT: Oh, imagine using his 4040/5050 MCPCB for the Q8 with four of these. :sunglasses:

Nice

May beat KW CSLPM1.TG. Which handles 6A in pulses (up to 0.1s) and 5A continuously. Has Vf of over 3.5V. But the top bin does c.a. 1800-2000 lm at 6A. The minimum flux of the lowest bin at 6A is near 1300 lm. Thermal resistance real 2.6, electrical - don’t bother to calculate. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
And has a non-square die.

ADDED: For a 2 mm² Lambertian emitter, 1400 lm is 222 cd/mm².

That sounds amazing, 200cd/mm2 stock should be like 300+ once we overdrive it on DTP MCPCBs
Can’t wait, this will be a serious upgrade over the black flat, unlike the CSLNM1.TG which is only a slight improvement.

However, it will be many months or several years before we can actually get some of these LEDs.
The CSLNM1 isn’t even available yet in multiples less than 1000 :frowning:

Regardless, laser phosphor is still a better option for ultimate throw.
This LED will be good for normal LED flashlights.

Where to find 4x4 center ring for black flat or luxeon V ?
Led4power not have

Make your own by reaming a 3.5x3.5mm centering ring.

When faced with the need to use a 5050 reflector centering ring over a 3535 emitter, I've succeeded by carefully glueing the centering ring over the emitter board. This glue (for example) works well and any excess is easily cleaned with alcohol.

Cheers :-)

Thanks for idea but other center rings are too high for this emitters. Is not easy shave to focus

Sanding down the centering ring is an option. A bit of trial and error may be involved, of course.

Cheers :-)

When in the business of changing leds in flashlights it is unavoidable to master the art of re-shaping centering rings

Looks like they listened to us! A bigger package improves the performance .

This will probably go in my big thrower. I had been planning to use the LED Enderman mentioned, but this one will be even better.

And they introduced a neutral thermal pad! Now some praying for the Lumileds 4040 lay-out.

The other new Osram LEDs that Enderman mentioned already have that. That’s no surprise in this regard.

Multiples of 1000 you say? If it’s worth it, BLF can pull off that quantity easily in a group buy. It is rare to see that many bare emitters bought in a GB, but if this new one is as good as it might be, I don’t think 1000 or even 2000 pcs is a problem to reach.

They do this because the LEDs are not available yet. We just need to wait.
