klrman, I think that is fine! Not sure how much of a difference they were beforE they were used in the light, but just to be on the safe side, I would not let the light run out of batteries. Because that would cause the weakest of the bunch be much deeper discharged than the rest.. and the second round that weak battery will become even weaker, and the third round even weaker.
So better charge them when they arent empty yet. You might see a difference in output when they get empty, and that might be a good time to recharge them.
The interview question and answers for the Eneloop technicians are on the website. Until I have time to put them 1 by 1 in the correct section on the website, they can be found here: https://eneloop101.com/interview-with-eneloop-technicians/
2. I installed heatmap software on the website, to see what people actually click on... but when I see the recording, it looks like all the numbers on my Charge page: https://eneloop101.com/charge/ are gone.. it only shows *****mAh.. So I'm curious if you guys can actually see the numbers like 1900mAh, or if you also get the ****mAh ?
Thanks for the info! They were the same voltage after I charged them the first time and were new eneloops from costco or amazon. I usually charge them when there is no difference between turbo and high on the ea81 and will keep an eye on them. BTW, nice chat bot on your website!
klrman, yes, always try to be on the safe side.. :)
Kame Sennin, thanks.. good to know.. I don't know why the software doesnt show the numbers... thanks for checking!
BTW, if you guys look at the /charge/ page, you can see I changed the layout completely, instead of an extremely long page, I put all the questions in tabs.. if that is what you call it.
Anyone know where I can get a deal on a BQ-CC17 charger in Canada? Looking for four of them. So far, the only option I can see is waiting for Costco to do a black friday sale if I'm lucky where they include 8xAA and 3xAAA with the charger.
I've grown to like it. It does only aa and aaa whereas the other multi chemistry chargers always seem to go bust and I want to gift the bq-cc17 to a few friends along with eneloops and an 4 x aaa lights and keep it as simple as possible for them.
Thought that may be the case, thanks. Amazon.ca sells that charger with 4xAA for around $29 so another option possibly. Since I want four of them, maybe the price is going to drop for black friday if I'm lucky.
Might grab it. Does one need to fiddle around with it when inserting AA or AAA batteries or is it auto? Does it also slow charge the eneloops like the BQ-CC17 does? I like that the batteries don't overheat on the panasonic charger.
1. No. Just put it on the charger, and it’ll charge it. Unless it’s a HV li-ion cell(4,35V) or LiFePO4, it’s just plug and play.
2. Charges at default at 500mA. Charging it slightly faster at say 750mA for AAs, and 500mA for AAAs is recommended, as it helps the charger find the right time to stop discharge when the cell is almost completely full.
It’s a really nice charger, especially for casuals. I’ve been using it for 3 years as said before, and it hasn’t let me down. That is one advantage of being a low power charger: passive cooling is juust fine, and will never heat up the cells on its own.
I also bought multiple units for some friends, and nobody has come to me for advice, other than setting the charge rate for 1st time use.
