They should be the same and have measured the same by many people. They both have xpl-hi, both have FET drivers and both have the same reflector diameter.
With the same battery and a ceiling test, the GT mini appears slightly dimmer and less focused. I will try other batteries
I just received my 2nd GT Mini a couple of hours ago, this one came from Banggood. Got it with the $32 Coupon wstrachan mentioned.
So far all is working well. The replacement head from Neal is still going strong too. :+1:
Hopefully that will continue for both. 
As far as Banggood goes…… They are so big, carry & ship so many different products; that it is highly unlikely any random customer service person we happen to talk to knows anything at all about flashlights.
It is just another product to them…. nothing more. They work off a script of things to request from the customer & settlements to offer in return. And, as has been said before by others; it is their job to wear the customer down in hopes they will give up or accept a sub par settlement for the defective product. 
It is our job as the recipient of the defective product to calmly not let them succeed. 
Calmly stand your ground & they will ‘cave’. At least that has been my experience so far.
It is not necessarialy ‘right’… but in the big scheme of things a few broken flashlights are not ‘top priority’ for them. That is just how it is. To us it is a big deal, to them not so much.
‘Play’ their game , calmly stand your ground, and you will win in the end. 
The mini requires a dbl clk for turbo. Your doing that, right?
Does the reflector look properly centered?
I will mail Neal as you suggested. I wish they didn’t glue the bezel.
Thanks for the welcome I’ve been lurking here for a few months! Quick update: I’ve emailed Banggood customer service and they agreed to ship out a replacement head. Didn’t have any issues with customer service so far and they’ve responded quickly. I will update again when the replacement arrives.

well the reflector is nice and body overall, but the issues with switches wasnt the best it seems, i guess they rushed the first production of lights to get them out quick, otherwise there wouldnt be any switch issues at all. but now that i got the replacement head and others from Neal the light is working normal again, yes for this price its a good thrower, sad about all issues too but hopefully everyone will get replacements or money back from banggood.
Also do u have a lumen meter or something? weird the emisar is much brighter u say, it can be a bit better focused but lumens i dont think there is much difference between them.
What exactly was the issue with the button? I scrolled back a few pages, but did not see any details about the issue.
Is the issue fixed now? Safe to order now from Banggood or Neals?
A few of the GT Mini switches stopped responding & a few locator lights quit working. Some of those had both issues.
It does not seem to be a ‘wide spread’ problem. If you want one, I’d say order it. . .
Recieved my GT Mini today. LED is not centered well despite that it has a centering ring. Tried to muscle open the bezel to no avail, seems to be glued.
By reading a few posts I assume that only have of the switch is lit is normal? One time it shut completely off, when I switched off the light. Oh well…
To be fair the rest of the light seems very well made.
yea it seems glued the bezel. half lit switch doesnt sound good, can u post a pic?

Yep, looks like my locator LED, just not centered as well.
I just got the bezel off, using some rubber gloves for better grip. I centered the reflector perfectly but when tightening the bezel again it pulls it off center again. It actually looks like it’s putting some sideways strain on the LED by this.
I’m going to test the light for a few weeks to make sure there’s nothing faulty and then switch LEDs.
I got my shorty tube today.
I thought that would be my EDC thrower, but it’s quite big for that. I will carry it with me for now, but expect to go back to Emisar D1.
The D1 is a perfect pocket thrower IMHO.
Put a dedomed XP-G2 or a sliced SST20 in it and you’ve got about 35kCd in your pocket
A little bit off topic but how do you guys find carrying D1 on a clip in your pocket?
I’m currently EDCing Manker U11 and it’s pretty much as compact as SC600w and find it close to what I consider comfortable. Will the difference in head diameter be noticable?
I don’t carry in in the pocket and I never use clips. It’s in my backpack. Or rather - it used to be; now Mini GT takes that place.
Killer light!! Very nice quality and wonderful UI. Can’t say enough things about how great dealing with Nealsgadgets was in the whole thing, def recommend him to anyone that is looking to purchase one
I would like to clarify that my GT mini seems well centered and I am operating it properly. The emissar D1S vs the GT MINI are extremely similar but with a ceiling test, equal distance and the same VTC6 cell, the Emissar appears slightly tighter in hotspot and ever so slightly eclipses the hotspot of the GT. Both are the same tint as well. I can’t explain the “why” but I only attest to what i am witnessing. Lumen output is probably identical but focusing seems a bit superior on my D1S sample.
Just a wish for future models….I hope they both would offer 21700 cell models like Manker has done with the U22.
