The Cometa just came back at discounted price in CN Warehouse. The second time I got it. There are at least three good reasons to do so. The combination of 50mm AR coated lens, brass pill, direct drive and 26650 battery is unique at this price level. It is much smaller than the Haikelite HT35 and should throw similarly. And every other cinese zooming light may have even more and worse issues and that without any of all these nice extra features.

If this zoomie out throws my L2, I'll either sell it or upgrade the L2 with an XH-P 70 and driver. I suppose if I sell the L2, I could buy another Cometa, 2* 26350s, FET 2S driver and an XH-P.

1667 and 1758 mAh for my two, oh well I didn’t have much expectation for them. They do appear to be protected, any danger of using them anyway? Anyone know what cell is in there?
I would just ditch them. Cells that have twice the capacity, 5 times the current handling and 10 times the safety (even without protection board) cost under 5 dollar nowadays.
I stripped the protection crap off mine, I got (4) of them, they’re alright, good enough in single emitter lights.
They have a purple wrap underneath with this marking…

I rearranged the leds. The SBT-70 is going into the 1504 (the much bigger lens is a better fit for the led also the light can handle the heat a bit better).
The two Cometas will be fun. One gets a Rebel Lime and one a Osram LCG H9RN.
