Is the PL47 really going to have that odd two tone body? It’s up on the Fireflies site with no colour option and the description is unclear. I always assumed it was just a prototype.
That’s unfortunate. I think many people were assuming the prototypes were cobbled together parts just for testing purposes. That is not an attractive look for a production light. Really hope they reconsider and at least give people a way to obtain a single-colored body.
I disagree. The very first post shows the light in it’s two tone configuration. How is that misleading? Someone comes up with something other than solid black and it is unfortunate? We all have our thing, I get that. I’d take it in all champagne color and be happy if it is single tone.
No one has said it’s misleading, I’m saying it’s unfortunate that they’re deciding to go this route. The first post has been constantly updated and did not originally have any picture in it. There were also pictures showing the light in single tone formats.
I’m not really into the two-tone look either. I thought it was that way due to making a prototype out of spare parts. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve gotten a mismatched prototype. But, looking at the first post, the two-tone light is far from the hardest part to look at. The marketing side of things always makes me a bit uncomfortable, especially when it has my name on it.
Ahh. I thought I remember the first post being different. It’s funny I guess. What brought me to this thread was seeing the two tone photo of the L shaped design in some search. “Cool!” was my reaction to it. That was my initial exposure. I have much gear in FDE or desert tan if you will, guns, knives, etc. Any flashlight with this motif I will be interested in. I plan on getting two.
