Yep, looks like my locator LED, just not centered as well.
I just got the bezel off, using some rubber gloves for better grip. I centered the reflector perfectly but when tightening the bezel again it pulls it off center again. It actually looks like it’s putting some sideways strain on the LED by this.
I’m going to test the light for a few weeks to make sure there’s nothing faulty and then switch LEDs.
I got my shorty tube today.
I thought that would be my EDC thrower, but it’s quite big for that. I will carry it with me for now, but expect to go back to Emisar D1.
A little bit off topic but how do you guys find carrying D1 on a clip in your pocket?
I’m currently EDCing Manker U11 and it’s pretty much as compact as SC600w and find it close to what I consider comfortable. Will the difference in head diameter be noticable?
Killer light!! Very nice quality and wonderful UI. Can’t say enough things about how great dealing with Nealsgadgets was in the whole thing, def recommend him to anyone that is looking to purchase one
I would like to clarify that my GT mini seems well centered and I am operating it properly. The emissar D1S vs the GT MINI are extremely similar but with a ceiling test, equal distance and the same VTC6 cell, the Emissar appears slightly tighter in hotspot and ever so slightly eclipses the hotspot of the GT. Both are the same tint as well. I can’t explain the “why” but I only attest to what i am witnessing. Lumen output is probably identical but focusing seems a bit superior on my D1S sample.
Just a wish for future models….I hope they both would offer 21700 cell models like Manker has done with the U22.
Yesterday, I have received my GT Mini. The first thing I noticed was how well this flashlight has been packed. So, kudos to Neal for taking care of a safe packaging and very quick (1 week only to Germany!) shipping! :THUMBS-UP:
The switch with the "alien grin" works flawlessly until now. It feels quite cushy and not very crisp but that doesn't bother me at all. What troubles me a bit is the XP-L HI having some offset from the center, resulting in a rather patchy spot on the wall. One side on the spot's outer rim looks dim, the other side like hazily lit up too much. I'm not sure if it's the reflector on the centering ring not being properly aligned or the XPL HI not being properly aligned within the centering ring. The picture below is unfortunately not very meaningful. As it appears to be glued, has anyone managed to open the bezel? Any hints, how to realign the LED correctly if the bezel cannot be loosened?
I received my replacement head and my diffusers. My order from Neal is complete. Not sure if anybody else got the diffuser or not but it really doesn’t fit the head its too large and doesn’t stay on tight. I am thinking an o-ring or a small piece of foam super glued on the inside edge might work to hold it better anyone else have the same issue or have you come up with some sort of solution.
My PayPal case is still ongoing, “Max” from Banggood claims a replacement head is on its way to me and wants me to close the claim.
I told him I’m happy to close the case immediately upon receipt of the new, working head, till that happen the case will remain open.
That was first of the week. No reply yet, we shall see if a new head shows up in 4-5 weeks.
hm okok, not sure how long a case on paypal can be open, that many weeks or ? thats a long wait does it really take almost a month to get stuff to you from china ?
