My main interest in this light is the tailswitch and overall size…though hopefully those prototypes aren’t accurate as I was secretly hoping this to be the size of the DQG Brass beauty, with the fancy and efficient ramping UI and triple emitters, since that particular light no longer seems to exist…

I was secretly hoping this to be the size of the DQG Brass beauty
The FW3A is shorter than the CNQG brass beauty, but it is wider. That’s to be expected, since it uses a triple instead of a single emitter.
ToyKeeper:I would set the ceiling to the highest regulated level, and I doubt I’ll use it above that level much.
Quite. Which is also driving my strong interest in this, DEL’s driver with x1 and x7 (I think) AMC chips.
That is huge, having regulation (and efficiency) at all usable levels. Goodbye FET+1.
Plus Anduril of course.
I couldn’t care less about the FET, that’s just for headline figures for a few seconds on a torch of these dimensions, and over-powered-ness (if that’s a word).
If you like that, you might also appreciate Mike C’s approach. He has a 4-channel driver that uses banks of AMC7135’s additively to increase current up to the max level of the driver. Only a single AMC7135 chip is PWM’d so most mode levels are completely PWM free. The PWM channel is for modes below 350mA current.
Here’s one of his driver threads, if you want to check it out.
Been catching up on this light. Can’t wait to get it in my hands, great work.
I see that two different emitters are listed in the results:
Poll (2018-06-08): Voting is open for emitter details: (results: the top choices were XP-L HI 3D and LH351D 4000K)
If you’re going to offer both emitters, I’d like to change my order to 4 lights total (already have two, 1148 and 1149) and get two of each emitter type. If you’re only offering one……Oh heck, I’ll still take 4 total. These will make great presents.
Thank you very much for all your efforts, build team.
Larry
O.K. Next update I write 2 for total 4.
Let’s hope Lumintop offer 2 Led
but we still do not know.
.
Jerommel: ToyKeeper:I have a couple lights at 4000K with 92 CRI and 95 CRI. I also have several around 5000K with only 70 CRI. I find that the 4000K ones look yellow, while the 5000K ones look white and give better color rendition.
Hmm…
I don’t find the 219C 4000K yellow at all, unless you compare it to cooler whites, but that’s a matter of colour temperature.
Must say though, and this makes a lot of difference, i don’t have any 4000K 219C in a reflector light.I have many 219c 90CRI 4000k lights (reflector and optics) and they are very yellow when compared to the 219B 9080 4000k, E21A 4000k, and Cree 5D tint.
the only 219C i found to be yellow are those on the KD triples. Looks more like 3500 K actually.
I’ll be in for 2 please.

I really like what Mike C has done, but I suspect he is also a private person, like me, who doesn’t particularly like to talk about things publicly.
Look up “reticence”, for example
Can I stick my name down for one please
Oh! Yes,
All interested, be welcome.
At the moment, no limit has been set (as was the case with BLF-GT.
All requests, will be included in the list of interested parties.
Primary Interest List, (main): See Post # 4, Page 1
If we have forgotten any request, please: Say, say it again
Price still around 30? I’m interested in 1please
Price still around 30? I’m interested in 1please
We don’t know yet.
Waiting for the Lumintop to tell us:
if there is only one Led,
or to be able to choose between two.
Pricing:
” Samsung LH351D NW “:LH351D | SAMSUNG LED | Samsung LED Global Website … Target $30US … including shipping?
Maybe $36US if ” Cree XP-L Hi, NW “:XLamp® XP/XT LEDs - Cree LED
Another thing to remember with tint preferences is there is such a large population of color blind people. Those who can not very well differentiate between red/ green will have a very different opinion of choices compared to handing the light to a lady with tetrachromancy and asking her opinion… and there are plenty of us somewhere in between.
Myself I like the Samsung at around 4500K.

Is the 351D available in 4500K?
Not in this Group Buy as far as I know.
I meant just in general, I’ve only ever seen 4000 and 5000K versions.
If there are 4500K for sale what’s their CRI?
I honestly have no idea.
No, Samsung doesn’t produce the LH351D in 4500K.
