The S43S comes with an 18350 only. Their history with their prior Special editions is to offer the 18650 tube separately. I had to buy all my 18650 S41S tubes separately. Thatâs fine but the S43 tube isnât listed to be sold separately. Itâs listed as âcoming soonâ, plus youâd have to pay shipping. So this time they really should have included an 18650 tube.
That being said, I jumped on the preorder, itâs a great discount. And 15Amp holy crap I canât wait to see that.
Great! They were not real clear on if it would make it into the final design.
They said something like âIt is really late for such a change and I think drivers are done already but I will tryâ
Looking at that picture, it looks like the spring was removed and the button added after the driver was complete. Shows they went the extra step to get that change made. Glad to see that.
The final form of the production light is often a mystery to me as well as yaâll lol.
Thatâs awesome.! Great work itâs really bright with the Nichia, at least for the five minutes I got to hold mine until my wife âsecuredâ it for herself. Ah well waiting for the copper version for me
I think I saw someone said the S43 works with the prior S41/S42 18650 tubes. Those have knurling but are a good bit shorter I believe, I need to measure. Maybe itâs the button which makes the tube seem longer. I have an extra old one Iâll have to try it. Now how to get it back from her for a few minutes âŚhmm
Can someone try that if the light is locked and hit the tailcap upwards with hand (Of course the spike removed ) ? And The question is if it jumps out of lock because the little battery disconnecting or not?
That is not very good. You need to lock with tailcap in a bag because if you drop down your bag harder it can unlock itself. Maybe I will put in some spring in mine when it arrives with wire bypass to not make output worse.
I had ordered a pair of the S43s from Banggood.com and they just arrived today. Iâm planning on giving one as a gift. You are right nokoff, the interface is awesome. That is my thought any time that I get a flashlight with NarsilM as the UI. The light out of these is quite nice and bright. It does seem to get hot pretty quickly when the light is set on high or turbo; it is a small head with 4 LEDs, so that is to be expected.
With the pictures in the forum and seeing how much better the prototype looked than the Astrolux production version, I was pleasantly surprised that it is a decent looking like in person. It does seem kind of naked without any knurling on the body, but the little bit of knurling on the end cap helps it a bit. But overall I donât think that the pictures do it justice. That being said, I did contact Neal, following the link for the Mateminco S03 over at M4DM4X.com at the end of last week and asked about ordering a couple of the long tube bodies for the S03. He said that he just hadnât gotten around to posting them on his page yet, but that they were $2/ea. + shipping. I went ahead and ordered two of those for a total of $9. Iâm anxious for those to get here and see which I like better. So if you do order the Astrolux S43 and donât like the body, you can change it out if you are going to use at 18650 battery. Iâll let you know what I think when they get here.
Now thatâs what I call being ahead of the curve!
Canât wait to hear your impressions of the LEGO!
Totally ageee that the stock Astrolux photo front 3/4 angle was the worst possible angle they couldâve shot their new torch. Looks really good in person.
