[Available again! - BLF special edition light] new Sofirn AAA twisty high CRI 5mm LED

Sofirn is trying to make it before 11.11 which is known as double eleven deal day on aliexpress! I believe 5-6 weeks before Christmas is long enough to arrive.

Hope everything will be as planned.

Thanks for the insight, Barry! :+1:

I would like my name down for 2 of each tint please?

Doh! I hadn’t realized that my last post on this altered my already existing request for a number of lights- I had forgotten that I already had myself put on the list. I just got so excited about these lights!

OK, so I apologize, but… please put me BACK to 3 of the 5600k variants.

At 7ish lumens, 12+ hours of runtime, the durability, potted or not and the small size factor, these lights will suit me greatly for a few uses. Would be great if the GB can get more than just black for a color… But, eh, take what we can get considering.

I would like two @ 3200K and four @ 5200K. I think I got the temps right, but you can infer I want two at the warmer temp and four at the whiter temp.

If not too late, I’ll take two of each

If not too late I am in for one of each tint

@djozz
Do you have an Astrolux A01?
Mid should be about 7lm.
A beam comparison would be interesting.

No sorry I don’t, never liked those round designs.

:+1: Looking good. Can’t wait for the release.

If its still open I’m interested in two of the 3200k. Thanks.

I would be interested in two of each.

If that price comes out anywhere near accurate, I’d take at least 2 warms and probably 1 cool as well, just for comparison.

The plan now is to build 1200 in black, 500 in red and 300 in blue, all colours half/half 3200K/5600K Yuji leds (based on my rough estimation of popularity). With the interest list (which now turns into a group buy list) close to 800 lights, even if the ratio is pretty far from correct there should be enough of each colour to get everyone the colours they want.

The trithole will be a bit smaller, the magnet hole a tiny bit wider, so everything fits better than the samples that I got. The potting I “should not worry about”, well I do worry about it ever becoming right, but seeing the crash-testing results with non-working potting, I am still not worried about the robustness of the whole light in any case.

The group buy price will very probably be 6.5 dollar including clip, I have no information about the non-gb price yet. I hope shipping is included in the 6.5 dollar.

Can they make some bare aluminum ? It looks nice and on a keychain it will look nice after months of use not as any color that beaten by the keys.

I asked about a bare version before and it received not much enthousiasm by Barry, even though I explained that it is even less work to make it than a black or coloured version.

I think it must be kept in mind for when/if a new batch is made after the first 2000 are sold out. I also still wish for a flat olive colour then, will be bugging Barry for that one too.

About colours, I understand that a limited set of standard colours, like black, red and blue, are much cheaper to have done than if the anodising facility (seems that Sofirn does not have that in-house) has to mix custom colours. So the flat olive may even be a very improbable wish.

Me happy

Me sad :frowning: :disappointed:

Thanks for the updates again djozz :+1:

That sounds like a reasonable plan for body colors.

In case they want to tweak the production numbers (although I’m guessing as a start they’re just using up exactly two bags of Yuji’s), the list currently stands at 60% of the 3200K, 40% of the 5600K.

I have a hunch warm will be more popular in red bodies and daylight in blue bodies, but that’s just because my plan is to buy at least one each of mine that way.

As the price and shipping details firm up, shall we transition to a dedicated group buy thread? I think it might help maintain clarity not having the first 9 pages of discussion about a customized Fenix light in the thread.

Where is the complete list? In the first post I only see a couple members listed.

The problem is that Stef is chronically absent, the OP can not be updated. I will send him an app (I have his phonenr) , see if he responds to that.
