Fireflies E07 preview

Only gripe is all the different patterns on the light but I think the light has great potential. I would not focus on all these other posts asking you to redesign their own personal light. Instead, focus on what you learned from the ROT66 and avoid making those same mistakes. If this ends up being more refined and reliable it will be successful.

The render makes it look like a stubby 26650 type of light. But doing the conversion on the dimensions, this thing is really small— like Zebralight small. I wonder how it will handle 7 high cri emitters.

yep, about 3.8”

Super interested. This is basically what the Emisar D7 was supposed to be. I also love multi-emitter lights, the more the better, because that increases efficiency. 21700 is also perfect for this light. Would love to see more aux light color options. Buck/boost driver would be ideal. USB-C charging would be great as that would make for good gift lights.

This looks awesome. Would love to see photos of the prototype.

Looks nice!

Interesting idea!

Why the choice for 304 and not 316 steel?
I’m happy to pay a few bucks more for much beter steel.
(Everybody living near a coastline should prefer 316)

Cool little package. I’d like to know more as details are ironed out.

Please think about adding Samsung LH351D 5000K 90 CRI leds in to led options. It has nice tint and high CRI and it has about same power in lumens as an XP-L HI. So best of both worls. I ordered 25 of them for myself and changing every low efficiency Nichias to these.

“A preview for our new light . Do you like the design?”

Yes, I like the design very much.

I also do not like the look of the tailcap, but I have seen other manufacturers state that they use this type of tailcap as an anti-roll device.

Looks awesome.

+1

I’m glad to see more emitters even if that forces it to be a floodier light, which can be a good thing. Compared to the D4S and PL47, those extra emitters should allow it to run significantly cooler and use less power at the same output levels. About 20% less power used and even better efficiency at only around 3000 lumens, and looking at the PL47, I’d expect this to be easily over 5000 lumens.

What I think would be sweet is if they made this as a mule. I haven’t had one yet, and it’d be nice to have a pure flooder. It would even be designed to be a mule and still use TIR optics by switching the bezel.

At the same time, why not 6061-T6 instead of 6063? 6061 is superior in most ways, and I’d argue the finished product is superior in all ways.

A couple swipes with a fingernail file solved this, NBD.

was going to get the first until I saw the 2nd offering. Saved my money for that one. Now I won’t get the 2nd offering but will use the money for this EO7. Please don’t advertise a new light until the previous one is available

+1 Absolutely

Btw, I think I will get a PL47 with Nichia 219B sw45k, but that will not hold me back in getting this light, too. Especially, if Samsung LH351D is also considered (LH351D has 90CRI 6000K CCT, which could be an extraordinary choice for people loving CW, but hating low CRI - and I would be happy to see 5000K and 3500K as well).

I like this light a lot! Reminds me this

Would also love to see more mass in this for better heat sinking, hopefully it will be heavier than the D4S. I don’t want another D4 where lumen output drops rapidly the moment you turn it on and gets hot within seconds
