Again: Good value in 18650

Okay, thank you. So XTAR it is. Got a good feeling with those. :)

From what I've read, they will fit in my UF980L and solarforce L2P.

Again, thanks to all of you!

I have some flames coming from Manafont(my first 18650), but from reading on here recently, who knows what might turn up!

The TFs arent bad, I got 4 TF3000 from MF and 2 TF2400 from DX (those are fake, tho I dont think they are bad) and they all work very well. But its just as it is when you start with something new.. my first flashlights cost less than 10$, now I spend multiple times of that. So naturally, I'm willing to spend more on batterys, too. There is always something better.. always!

If you have the purple XTAR 2600, it may not fit your L2P. I have a couple of those purple ones and none would fit the new L2P I received about a week ago.

That's a fact. NEW XTAR 2600's will not fit in the NEW Solarforce L2P. They will fit in the older L2P's, however. I have both older and newer XTAR 2600's along with older and newer L2P's so I've tested this.

Well.. I'll hope they fit and if they dont, I'll buy a couple of Hi-Max too and retire my TF2400.. :D

i just recieved some purple xtars from pandawill (they shipped from within the us and for two new xtars it was 13.50 with free shipping. got them in 6 days. 2100 did a discharge test on one of his purple xtars with pics in another thread (search "purple xtar" and the post will come up. he got around 2200 mah i think. cant remember exactly, and im on my phone right now or i would post the link to the thread.

Edit> Here's 2100s dishcharge test of the purple xtar 2600: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/4453?page=1 Post #77 He got 2288mAh

I was just told that szwholesale dont sell to germany because they have an exlusive dealer here.

16€ + 3,90€ shipment (free shipment when order > 17€)....

I think I'll order Hi-Max then.

Yesterday I received 2 pairs of the new purple XTARs (ordered from Serena).

First charge test:

(charged @1A from 2.8v @IMAX B6AC)

No discharge test yet...

I mostly have TrustFire 2400 Flames from DinoDirect. Somehow all of mine are real, but I mainly use my pair of Hi-Max 2600s because they're better. You can save a little money on the Hi-Max by making an offer to pingyi.co.ltd on eBay.

Discharging at the moment, going to finish soon.

Using Imax B6, 4,20V -> 2,70V with 1A.

EDIT: Measured capacity of 2360mAh

@CheapThrills: I was thinking about getting some kind of charger like the imax too, but I read it gives wrong voltage etc. and has to be modified to work properly? Are there good hobby chargers for about 30$?

IMO Imax gives accurate-enough measurement readings to hobby use.

I would recommend getting an Xtar WP2 II (~20$) for charging purposes. I use my Imax only for charging more rare setups and for testing. Most common battery types have theis own dedicated chargers.

I've got a charger for my 18650s, I only think about getting something to test the capacity.. :)

Well, I don´t know of anything to fit in that budget of 30$. Seems like quite a lot of users here have Imax.

I know some guys have far better equipment to test and get for example discharge graphs but I think they cost some or FAR more than that.

there are others way but probably the hobby charger is the cheapest/easiest solution

just consider that the imax b6 and clones can test a discharge up to 1A, b8 and clones up to 5A, sometime, especially with cheap clones, the result is not very precise due to the cheap resistors used

Read from some hobby threads that imax b6 and clones have 1% resistors, this by itself more than enough accuracy for flaslight use. It's even considered ok for multi Li-Po balancing, though not perfect. However, simply changing these to 0.1% resistor totally changes the playing field, making the b6 performing similar to hobby chargers many times more expensive.

The drawbacks? Well... resistors are SMD... :) so if you have surgeon hands and proper tiny tools then you can think about replacing them.

0,1%? I thought resistors were Ohm..

They are - but they come in varying grades of precision.

I think in an earlier post in this thread, I asked you "how you do that"..

Anyway, I am think I have reached Level 1 Budgeteer Apprentice Wink.. I found the source, and was able to get 6 hi max 2600 for $26.00 plus $10 for shipping. Wink

That comes to $6 each.

However, before I saw that, I went for the 2 Hi Max 2600 for $18.90 on Ebay which means I spent $9.45 for each cell in that deal. I am learning.. Cool
