Tiny USB lights

I have a few of those. I got some that has ramping and a few with sensor to turn on in the dark. Darn thing so small; forgot where I put them. I remember bringing one when I went traveling oversea.

I got five of the Soshine 6 LED variable lights in cool white four years back. They work very well and I keep them taped to my power bank and the one I left for my GF.

They work well enough and were less than $2 ea., shipped.

Chris

I have one plugged into a rear USB on my ’puter to help see to unplug/plug cables.

I have this light on the keys for several years. It works reliably. I gave some of them as a small gift.

Here is what I did with one of mine :

EDIT : If you’re afraid of tearing the LEDs on your key-chain, here is a solution :
UV glue

I have several (warm withe) of the simple kind and love them too.

Whenever i offer a small powertank i add one and usually keep one taped to my own powerbank.

The cheapest i have found are from ebay at 0.99$ for 5pcs but not tested yet as they are still somewhere between china and europe ;-)

Btw -X3- i don't see any picture in your post while it sounds like there should be one, could you please provide a link ?

Yeah there are 5 pics in my post, don’t know why you don’t see em

Can anyone point me to the usb light with light sensor, cant find any on the bay of E.

They seem more popular than I expected.
Thanks for all the comments. I ordered 2 kinds already and I intend to get another 2 on 11.11.

Has anyone swapped LEDs in their lights?

Not ebay, but here’s example:

Neat idea, X3!!
These are small enough to keep at every location you might be at. Always waiting for the lights to go out….

Yeah, teeny ones in CW and WW (!), bigger ones with integrated touch-switch (on/off, ramping), and don’t forget the “toothbrush” lights, usually COB but sometimes discrete, that also come in handy.

I kinda stocked up on a lifetime’s worth when GB was blitzing these things at wonderfully low prices (now, forget it, 10× as much).

Especially the WW ones make great nightlights, ’though the pwm can be horrible. Just scan the room with your eyes and you’ll see a big connect-the-dots trail.

Still, I carry 2 of ’em in the little pouch-thing in which I keep my earplugs and flash-thingy.

I love how for some sellers the touch control thing translates to an amazing :

"Using the latest fingerprint technology, it will be able to use your fingers to achieve control of LED lights"

Wow ! Fingerprint technology ! ;-)

@ -X3- : Ok i got the pictures , Privacy Badger doesn't like googleusercontent.com very much ! Could you please provide a link to the glue you use ?

Sure, Kafuter UV glue

Yeah, what glue is that? I don’t get that nice shiny finish with Kafuter.

edit:
So it’s Kafuter…
Why don’t i get that shiny finish??

Once it’s cured with UV, you should have a sticky but shiny surface…
The problem is that the sticky finish will collect fingerprint, pocket lints etc…
So you have to polish it, on a denim jean for example…

I guess the sticky surface is no good for output…

Indeed, sticky finish is what i get too.
Clean and polish then.
You did a nice job at that. :+1:

I’ve got this type of a light today. White.
It’s a bit larger than I expected really.
Has no UI, plug in to turn on. Beam is mostly rectangular, not clean. Very cool ugly tint. I don’t like it.

It would be cool to have a micro-USB sized light…Type-A light + micro USB adapter = not so tiny….
I did a quick search, failed to find anything.

I wonder if it would be easy to use oshpark or similar service to make a simple light with Optisolis and resistor…
