And I haven’t had any issues with any of them I live in Pennsylvania may be a Florida or the southern states that get super hot maybe they do warm up But i haven’t had any problems or anyone that’s bought them the only problem is buying them now BG sells out in hours when they restock
Well I’ve been through 40 some already and never had any problems and know one has said they have had any problems either I go camping every week end take like ten with me and sell them right around the fire pit
And I can’t wait for the new model 21700 or two 18650 or the 26650 id like longer run time but me personally I haven’t got into the 21700 Battery yet but any bigger battery longer run time would be great for how small the light is as long as they keep it as a removable battery because I like to be able to Inner change the battery myself because I have some many on me I don’t have to wait to recharge
Just reading back through the threads and what does anyone expect it’s 15 bucks this light is beyond all expectations you could throw it away and buy a new one every year and still take 4 to 8 years before you spend the money on all those bulky expensive lanterns
Just a thought Screwball …… I would be wary of selling these to ‘just anyone’ around your campfire without additional info. Its possible they wont know much about Li-ion safety or what ‘could happen’ if they dont use common sense and are aware of the consequences of not following a few guidelines. I would point them to this(and the other Z1) thread and maybe prompt them to read Lithium-ion battery safety 101 Lithium-ion battery safety 101. They should understand that some have reported problems and be aware of that so they can monitor their lantern(in case it is a ‘dud’) …… it would be a tragedy if there was a problem and it caused a tent fire in the middle of the night simply because they lacked the info.
All the ones I’ve been selling are ones that are being used when ones sold I get another out of the box I figured that would be easier in case I needed to send one back and everyone in the campground has been buying 18650 batteries and flashlights from me for like over 10 years anyone new I quiz , but it’s not a store it’s a camp ground but thank you for your concerns it’s always a good practice for those battery types

My T1 is still in full working order, probably run it 12-16 hours a week at a medium brightness and ‘medium’ CCT since I received it. Makes a good travel bed-side lamp.
My wife uses mine every day instead of the overhead light in our bedroom. I bet its on for at least 3 hours a day. I have dropped it down my stairs and accidently kicked it. Its defiantly passed my torture tests. Only thing I do no like is that I cant adjust the brightness when I ramp the tint to where I want it.
That’s what I like, a light with attitude! “Thank you, sir! May I have another?”
From the looks of what it took to open one up I think what I’ve done to it is moderate.
I got 3 back the end of July…… I gave one to my 92 yo mother who lives alone in another city. I told her when she gets lonely just look at her lamp and know that I am thinking of her and I do the same with her in mind. Both have been running on Low/WW- 24/7 since the end of July only re-charging every couple of weeks. No problems at all……… I love em.
Yep … awesome little lanterns. I bought these when they were first offered. I’ve been extremely pleased with my pair. They both are used often and are very rugged. Highly recommended.
Mine is working perfectly and I have ordered more. I removed the cell supplied and swapped it for a 30-Q and tested it. I also swapped it for both VTC5 and VTC6. Finally I intend to run a 18650GA or 35E long term.
The cell got moderately warm after 1 hour of operation on full power with the stock cell. ’Just uninformed suspicion it is a combination or proximity of the LEDs to the cell and the cell warming during discharge.
It DID NOT get as warm with any of the three test cells.

From what i can read from the oldest reports the UI as been changed somewhat :
Top switch :
- first short tap : Cool white with level memory
- second short tap : Warm white with level memory
- third short tap : OFF
- While in CW or WW mode a long press will ramp the ligth level down, a second long press press will ramp it up. The "ennoying high step" at low level (described in early reports) is still there.
- While in CW or WW mode two quick taps will select the color mix mode at maximum light level where a long press will ramp the color from cold to warm and the next long press will ramp it from warm to cold. I have not found a way to set any other light level but the maximum !
- While in color mix mode a short tap will set the light OFF
Bottom switch :
- First press/release : Red light
- Second press/release : Red SOS (very slow !)
- Third press/release : OFF
Current drawn :
- CW max : 1.1A
- CW min : 12mA
- WW max : 1.0A
- WW min 12mA
- Color ramp : from 1.1A (CW) going down to about 0.7A at mid ramp and up to 1A (WW)
- Red : 0.22A
- Standby : 22uA
That's more than 10 days 24/24 at minimum level and the standby consumption is lower than the cell self-discharge !
For me this lantern is a mixed bag :
I love the WW ... but there's no way to put it on without going through the CW wich i feel is a "very angry blue" one.
The color mix mode is interesting ... but the "always max level" totally kills it for me.
Anyone seen any viable competitors to the T1? I’d love one from a company like emisar, with a nice eswitch and tailcap lock-out.
Maybe the Fenix CL25R or their newer models?
I just got my second T1 lantern. I didn’t realize the UI has changed since the original version. This new one allows you to turn it off with a touch of the top button. I like that. In the old one, you have to press and hold the bottom button to turn it off.
Now the negative: This new one does not allow you to dim the light as much as the old version. Maybe it’s just sample to sample variation?
