Copper S2+ limited edition

Not sure if this has been asked or answered already. How’s the weight of the S2+ copper? and compared to the S2+ aluminum versions?

Does it feel heavy to hold (eg. like carrying a bigger flashlight)?

It’s in here somewhere…I think mine was 170-180 grams

Anybody thought of turning up a C8+ ’Copper” or Brass torch.
That would be worth having.
The 1in waterpipe torch I find soo ho-hum.

C8+ Brass/copper, with triple head. 26650 cell. side switch and no rear sw.
Really would be a torch worth showing around.

I have a Grey S2 and a Silver S2+ both new. I just bought,
battery fitted to test . Then sitting in Bedroom cupboard.
Never used or taken outside.
Offers if interested But I’m in Australia.
Freight would kill to most I think.

That’s why I dumped 18 in garbage last month. We live Rural.
$5 to $18 initial cost per.
At second hand price plus AUST, freight. Nobody interested.
My torches are either mid range keepers. or disposables at delivery.
with 3 or 4 surprises.

Weight with battery:
Convoy s2+ copper - 221g

Compare to other lights:

Convoy S2+ - 126g
Astrolux S41 - 157g
emisar D4Ti - 172g
Lumintop prince copper - 168g

Thanks, Charles Lin for those info!

Guess I was asleep and missed this one. Anyone know who might have bought these Copper S2+ lights for resale? Or if there are any plans for a third run?
Thanks,
Dennis

Huh? Convoy’s AliExpress shop says there are 42 pieces available.

I just got an e-mail from Simon after I asked when more would me made and he said that he found some more stock of S2+ lights….and that I could place an order ….which I just did …. 41 left?

The weight is something you notice right away and is part of what makes it feel higher quality than an Al S2+.

I’d think twice about adding one to a backpack. I’d rather carry an extra battery.
Debbie really likes mine but said she wouldn’t want to carry it in her purse. I ordered her a purple S2+ instead.

I’m interested in this. Can someone recommend which emitter is good for throw in neutral or warm tint with the smooth reflector? What are the differences between the drivers?

Thats what I thought when I saw this. Yesterday it said “Sold Out”

As far as S2+es, I way prefer TIR lenses in ’em vs reflectors.

With reflectors, you’ll get a fried-egg beam (yellow hotspot, blue-white spill), whereas most TIRs will blend the colors for a way nicer beam.

5° and 8° TIRs are available, and they’re easily interchangeable in case you want to swap in a 60° for more flood, etc.

Anyway, the stock 4C is a nice temp/tint, just-warm-of-neutral sunlight through a TIR.

Else, go crazy with a 219, 351, etc., in whatever ct/tint you want.

Can you show me sample beam pattern of 5 and 8-degree TIR? Thanks. And where one can get them (preferably not Amazon, as I’m on the other side of the Globe…)

Not really, no pix to speak of, but others might.

Only other places I’ve seen are LEDSupply and Fasttech.

My Copper S2+ finally arrived after a month! I'm extremely pleased with it. It has a wonderful smooth and luxurious-looking finish with the usual exemplary S2+ build quality, and the XPL-HI packs a fair old warm-coloured punch in such a small package. It can't of course hold a candle to my frankly ridiculous jet fuel hot rod S2+ Triple, but that's an unfair comparison!

I love how it weighs about 3 times as much as a normal S2+, too.

I tried to get the colour of the copper as accurate as possible when editing these photos.

Sorry, I get too used to my QHD screens! I’ve shrunk them a bit now.

Or 100% wide.

I ordered my Copper Convoy S2+ as a host. When I soldered in the driver and the led I wondered why it didn’t light up. Then I unscrewed the tailcap and look what I found :person_facepalming:

I just wanted to note this in case someone’s S2+ does not turn on as well. Apart from that little flaw that is fixed within seconds I’m very satisfied with the Copper Convoy S2+. The transparent coating lets the copper stay shiny instead of getting ugly brown with use. Along with my Convoy L6 and my Emisar D4 it is the most beautiful flashlight I own!

that is one good looking light!
